is anyone here a King fan?....if not, i highly recommend some of his works....The Stand has to be his best....a lot of folks automatically associate him with horror, but he works fantasy into a lot of his stories.....thoughts?

He is an awesome writer. I loved The Stand. He also did Shawshank Redemption too... |

I'm about 300 pages into the uncut version of The Stand right now. I've also read Eyes of the Dragon and The Talisman.
My sister is a huge fan of his... this is, apparently, all prep for read the Dark Tower series.

it truly is one of the best....Calix, you're going to love the Stand....and if you've read Talisman, definitely try to read Black House.....and twyrch, he wrote a novella called Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption that the movie is based on.....very well written....a bit different from the movie, though.....but i'd definitely suggest it.....as well as any of his short story collections.

I love Stephen King's Dark Tower series! It was awesome. . .I haven't read Dark Tower yet. . .that's the first on my summer reading list, but the series, from what I've read thus far, is amazing! Twyrch, I'll read Lawhead if you read Dark Tower  |

Uh. . .That's normally because I avoided the Stephen King discussions over there because. . .yeah, they talk about the same thing over and over. Plus, I haven't read The Dark Tower yet, and I want to read it before anyone spoils it for me.  |
