Oh, Stand By Me, the movie that introduced the two biggest stars of the 1990s: Wil Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell! OK, sorry about the sarcasm. In all seriousness, though, the movie did star River Phoenix--it's very sad that his drug addiction took him away from the world so soon. He had a string of spot-on performances (even in Stand By Me as a child), especially his portrayal of the young Indiana Jones and his genius in My Own Private Idaho. As for Wil Wheaton--well, I'd like to say that he grew out of his being an annoying, whiny kid/teen, but if you check out www.wilwheaton.net/ (his personal blog), you'll find out that nope, as a 30something, he's still annoying and whiny. |
