Tuck is released. The U.S. and the U.K. hardcover editions are now shipping.

As King Raven, Rhi Bran y Hud is Lord of the Forest. But his true crown seems out of reach. Bran is still fighting to bring his people justice from the shadows of the green wood. I hope it comes out *early* next year, because me and my friend Jeb have been moping around waiting for it for about a year now. One thing I noticed though, about that cover, shouldn't he be a little bit more, you know, rotund?

Anyway, you can't sell a book with a fat monk on the cover. A thin one, possibly. One with a raven perched on his arm, definately.

The US covers haven't had people on them, but is it true that the UK's do?

If so, I wonder if this is a UK cover, and the US one will be different?

I'm thinking specifically of the Scarlet cover with him on it ... never seen it in the US.

The figure on the cover is always going to be King Raven (Bran). The three books refer to the three main characters and the story as told by their points of view. Hood was Bran. Scarlet was Wil and Tuck will be... we... probably partly told from Tuck.

But the images are always referring to Rhi Bran with the backdrop of Coed Caw and the land he is king of.

Most monastaries had food and other goods brought to them by their parish or whatever they were known as then.

At this time, it looks like the U.S. cover for Tuck will indeed feature a hooded visage. Thomas Nelson, the publisher of the US hardback, shows on their website and in the announcement in the back of the paperback Scarlet the cover you see above. The chief difference between this and the mock-up that was posted at SRL's site is that the mock-up had a large raven perched on the guy's arm.

Tuck Finished ... Again!

The previously mentioned Edinburgh Book Festival was a splendid affair, and the holiday in Scotland a very pleasant and much-needed break. I returned from the Highlands to find the final draft of Tuck on my desk -- back from the editors. I've now completed the final edit and sent the manuscript back for copy editing. So far, we're still on schedule for a January release. I will announce the official release date as soon as it has been finalized. In the meantime, I'm turning my attention to my new project -- an idea which has been steeping for a few years now, and I'm keen to begin working on it in earnest.
