Hello to all. My name is Josh, and I live in Greenville, South Carolina, USA. I've been a fan of Lawhead since my mom read to me from a copy of Pendragon, which she picked up from the discard book pile at the library in my hometown of Bluefield, Virginia. The rest is a work in progress. I've read the Pendragon Cycle, Hood, Avalon, Turn Back the Night, and I'm on book two of the Albion trilogy. I am first and foremost a Christian, as well as an herbalist/apothecary/druid of sorts. As far as hobbies go, I am, an artist, a lover of music, an unpublished author, swordsman, storyteller and thespian. My screen name is the name I gave the main character in a novel that's been brewing since I was in Junior High, and really wasn't supposed to have any meaning outside the novel, but Google proved me wrong. I joined this forum mainly because I've had a bit of bad luck getting my friends into reading Lawhead, and I wanted to have an opportunity to discuss or read ideas that others who enjoyed the same books I read. That's a bit about me, and I look forward to lurking around and occasionally throwing a couple pennies into the pot, if I am ever fortunate enough to have something profitable to add to a discussion. Thank you.

Josh, welcome to the forum! We all come from different backgrounds with different views on things, but we all share a love for Lawhead's fantastic work, and I think you'll find a lot of common ground here. BTW - please share about your novel-in-progress over at the "Aspiring Authors" section, we'd love to hear about your work! -Robert

Hey! Mcmojo here. I live in Nashville Tennessee. I am married to a wonderful, Godly woman and I have two boys and another child on the way.
I first read Lawhead in the 4th Grade. I saw a copy of In the Hall of the Dragon King, and I knew right then that I had to read it. I loved it immediately and read the other books in the series as soon as possible. I have been a fan ever since.
My favorite book by SRL is Byzantium. My favorite character is Merlin. My favorite story is The Pendragon Cycle. My favorite moment is the end of Arthur when Merlin and Arthur are sailing to Avalon and Arthur calls Merlin "father".
That's about it for now. I'm just happy to have a place to talk about my favorite living author.

It seems a lot quieter around here than I expected. Does this forum get a lot of activity when a new book comes out?

Welcome here, mcmojo!
Hopefully, yes. That was the case when Hood came out. Also, there was pre-release buzz for Scarlet, even though there was not much discussion for that book here after it came out, for some reason. Well, at least it went on to win Lawhead the Christy Award. I appreciate your comments on the upcoming Bright Empires series. And please talk up a storm about Tuck; the countdown is just days now. Also, Nelson and Lawhead have been in talks the past few months about a reissue of Empyrion and Dream Thief, so that may also heat up the scifi threads soon.
Glad to have you here!

How do...
I hope I'm doing this in the right spot. I just joined here today. I'm a forty-something comicbook artist/ illustrator living with my beautiful Godly wife on the coast in lower-central California. Oh, and we share our home with the most insane dog, Josey, who is an Australian Cattle Dog, or Blue Heeler.
We enjoy the home the Lord has blessed us with: a rented cottage on a forty-acre horse ranch, smack in the middle of an indescribably lovely grove of very old oaks. The terrain here is very like Cumbria, UK, and it's very lush and green.
I'd previously read only Taliesin and Merlin, as I usually have loads to read, not for pleasure, but for the business of comic-book making. This Christmas past, my mother gave me Book 1 od the Song of Albion. Good God, it's the most enjoyable reading I've had in years and years. (Excluding the book John Wesley called "That Book".)
I suppose this is introduction enough... God's blessings and more later...

Warm welcome to you, Rhewtan! Thanks for joining us and reporting on the tremendous goldmine you've happened upon. (Mothers -- God bless them!) I hope you have the opportunity to savor the rest of Albion's tale soon. We'd like to hear more of your thoughts about it and Lawhead's other books as you read them. Or just spend time with us enjoying life and sharing the Lord's blessings. All the best --

Rhewtan, Welcome to the group! And you'll find lots of Song of Albion fans here. The great news is that Stephen Lawheads next series will be fantasy after a long trek into speculative/historical fiction: Bright Empires! And its supposed to be a five book series, so we can all hold our hats for a long, fun, ride. Hey, do you know Roland Mann? I met him at the last American Christian Fiction Writers conference (ACFW), and found out he used to be an editor at Malibu Comics in California, and then worked for Marvel after the buyout. -Robert

A very happy welcome to the forum. It's wonderful what parents can do to bring some tremendous books to us. My own parents got me hooked on the Dragon King trilogy and Taliesen, etc. when they first came out. I've been hooked ever since.
Please do share your thoughts on anything and everything that comes to mind both with books, comics... anything at all.
Again, welcome.

I'm Jason. I'm a college student on the U.S. West Coast. I started reading Stephen's Song of Albion Trilogy after it was suggested to me by a family member. I checked them out of my local library & read all three in a single week! They're amazing books.
