Thought I'd pop in here and say Hi! I have been lurking for months and think this site is great. I have read Scarlet and Hood, looking forward to Tuck. I also have quite a few of his other books but haven't started them yet as I like to collect the series before embarking on the ride as there is nothing worse than being totally emersed in a story only to be left hanging when you can't get your hands on the the next one. I had to get our library to order Hood as it was and the 2 month wait in between the two was excruciatingly painful.
I also picked up the DVD set (which was suggested on a thread) from Great Courses "The World of Byzantium" which I am currently watching. I am also watching episodes of Cadfael which is set in that time period and I would highly recommend it.

Nice to meet you. I hope you'll stick around and share your thoughts on the books when you get around to reading them.
Have fun

Hi everyone. My names Darren and I live in the East Yorkshire area of England. A medieval town called Beverley. I am 35 at the moment and am married to Helen, none of my own children, but I have a 17 year old stepson. I also got into Stephens books through the Song of Albion trilogy. I am just re reading them again and it has spurred me into thinking of writing for myself. Think I might tap into scandanavian folklore and myth as like celtic mythology it has a rich vein

Hi, Darren. Yes, reading Mr. Lawhead's work often has that effect on people.

Greetings and welcome. Reading Lawhead's work does indeed have that effect. I've given it a shot several times but nothing I feel worthy to post and share. There is so little of it to start with. I hope you have great success.

It's so deadly quiet. So I'll cause a stir by posting off topic here and get yelled at. I'm just gonna sit right down and write myself a letter.

Nice to see you again Bren. Things do get slow sometimes around here but sooner or later someone will post and derail a thread just for some fun.
Nice to see the wookie back amongst us.

Greetings, all. I am quite new to this here website, but am more than interested in getting aquainted. I am a Christian, I'm eighteen years old and the youngest of five kids. I live in Western Pennsylvania, and have been a fan of Stephen Lawhead's writing for about seven years. I currently own and have read all of his works, save his non-fiction, and his King Raven triolgy. And as to that last item, I never read a series or trilogy until ALL the books are released, just a habit I have formed. I am also an amateur artist, writer, and musical composer, and I stress AMATEUR. I love my God, I love music, I love books, and I LOVE writing. I am currently formulating and brainstorming for a trilogy I have in mind to write. I have been working on it for about a year. I also have made a 50min. short film. I am very open to criticism, and actually desire it in reference to any of my works. I am well aware of my immaturity as far as skill and ease with writing is concerned, but I want to learn. Which is one of the reasons I joined this forum, though also having book/reading/writing crazy people to talk to is a definite bonus! I hope I have not come across arrogant or headstrong!

Welcome to the forum. I understand your thought about waiting for an entire trilogy to be released before jumping into it. I've run into that problem myself over the years but I just can't help myself from buying the next book. I'm an addict I guess to certain authors. I'm sure you'll find others here who can share similar stories about writing and getting feedback. People are pretty open with their ideas here so feel free to share whatever you like. I wouldn't say you've come across as arrogant or headstrong but rather determined.
