Since this seems to be the official introduction thread and I have have been sucked into posting several times already on my perusal through this marvelous forum, I will attempt to give you a *brief* introduction.
I have photographic evidence that I began reading Tolkien at 6 months - LOTR no less! Actually, the photo is of me staring at the book from the back as my father read. I think he attempted to read The Fellowship to me at age 6, and tried again when I was 10. I am 30 and the most recent SRL book I have read, my father read out loud to the family on vacation. I can't remember if my first SRL was Empyrion or In the Hall of the Dragon King, as I remember them both being read to me in the same house...I've moved houses ~30 times, so I tend to date things by the house. No, I was not an army brat, my parents moved alot, and now I have too (16 addresses in the past 7 years - including 4 different countries). My current residence is in MD, USA.
I've been a confirmed bookworm for a very long time, and conversations about my favorite books usually end in my writing a list of authors and titles for people to read, so, I am beginning to get smart and type them up so I can email them....which is actually how I found this forum and got pulled into posting.
I've also undergone just about every form of educational method under the sun, including private school, public school, homeschool, Christian college, foreign secular school, and IVY league (still scratching my head over how I got into that one!) Some of my friends tease that I am a perpetual student, but I think I finally, really graduated this year *huge sigh of relief* and am currently studying for my professional exams, hence the wonderful procrastinatory distraction this forum has provided.
On the language side of things: I speak Spanish and Hebrew (Modern), and a few snippets (read between 2-50 words) of Amharic, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, German, and Ouiger. I think my next language goal is Arabic, followed by Russian and then Chinese....

!Bienvenidos, hamameliss! !Me encanta el español! También leo el latín, la griega (antigua), y el hebreo (antiguo). Sé un poco de algunos otros lenguajes, pero mucho no.
(English translation so that ProBoards won't delete this: Welcome, hamameliss! I love Spanish! I also read Latin, ancient Greek, and ancient Hebrew. I know a little of some other languages, but not much.)
Nice to meet you!

Wow. I would venture you're a world traveler. Welcome to the boards. As you've already been searching around, I hope you're enjoying yourself. One language I noticed you didn't mention but must know for your grammar to be so good is English. I look forward to seeing you and your thoughts around the boards. Have fun.

Greetings from Germany! My name is Timothy and I'm 35 years old and living in Hanover, working as an officer in The Salvation Army. I've been a Stephen Lawhead fan ever since Taliesin came out. I really enjoyed The Song of Albion and am patiently waiting for Tuck to come out. Schöne Grüße aus Deutschland!

Greetings all! To introduce myself: My favorite author from pre-teen through teens was Louis L'amour, he wrote mostly westerns and I own all 120+ books/poetry of his. My favorite book of his was not a western novel though, it was a medieval fiction. Then in 8th grade I read The Hobbit by Tolkien and became a big fan of his works. Around the same time, I picked up Taliesen by SRL and became a Lawhead fan. As I stated in another post, the only SRL I have yet to read are DreamThief and Empyrion. As a boy moving towards manhood, I was challenged to become like King Arthur; noble, strong in spirit and will and skill, and full of integrity. After completing the Pendragon cycle, I sought out his other works. Song of Albion was great. The Dragon King trilogy lost my attention to be honest, someday I'll finish it. The Celtic Crusades were highly enjoyable to read. Patrick was insightful and entertaining, made me desire to do more research on who he "really" was. Byzantium was a "turning point" book for me. I could really connect w/ Aiden. When he was challenged to turn back and trust in God, so was I, reminded from Scriptures that men are like grass, we shall wither away and die, but Praise be to God who looks upon and cares for us even more than a sparrow. The Hood Trilogy is very exciting, I look very eagerly toward Tuck. Lastly, I am 30, living in Northeastern US, w/ a wife and 2 little ones. I currently coordinate web based seminars for the American Chemical Society for employment. I am also currently a student again, preparing to get a clergy license. I have worked on staff at a church as a youth ministry worker, but have since resigned to save the church some dough and am now their Treasurer. Which is good, my spiritual gift is administration, not teaching. And though I do not post much here, I thoroughly enjoy reading all of yours.

Greetings All! I've been a Stephen Lawhead fan for about 13 years, and have greatly enjoyed his work. My favorite book is probably Merlin, but it is a very hard call. I'm 24 and from Western PA (Go Steelers!), and I'm actually married to a blond-haired, blue-eyed kingly man named Arthur. Coincidence? I think not ;D. I hope to be around and get to know some fellow Lawhead readers. Grace and Peace

Greetings and nice to meet you. It comes to mind that there have been quite a few people who've joined here who have expressed a great liking to Merlin.
Have a look around and feel free to share your thoughts wherever you feel inclined.
Have fun.
