That's a house rule when we play at my house. Purists hate it but it makes for a much quicker game, love it!

Well, I am a bit of a purist myself, but whatever works for you I guess.
I won at Chinese Checkers today!

The first 2 are really fun and challenging games. Blokus is easy for anyone to step in and just play, but has depth for the experienced player. I haven't played that 3rd game mentioned. I'd probably rank my favorites in this order: Risk Stratego Blokus Monopoly Scrabble

I've been playing Acquire with my family and other guys from our church over the last few years. We buy our boards from Ebay so we all have the old version of the game, which has hotel based stock instead of technology based stock. Just like poker, there is a 'chance' element, but awareness and psychology are more important. It is not like poker in any other respect, and chance plays a much smaller role than poker. It's a unique game, hard to compare to anything else. Any one ever play Shogun (renamed Samurai Swords)? It's like Risk, but has more strategy and less chance involved. It's a little complicated but not too bad once you've played it once.
