I'm not going to vote because, going by the example of LotR, any attempt at moviemaking will cheapen the story.
Welcome to the forum, btw!

I would think Byzantium would make a good film. Thinking in terms of what can be ift into a single movie under time constraints and yet keep the attention, this is where I would go. The other books/series all have potential but there are difficulties with each.

With the Pendragon Cycle I see not one but TWO trilogies!!!

I'm definitely in favor of a "Pendragon" movie (or mini-series.) As long as the creators "get" Lawhead (in the way that McGrath "got" Nicholas Nickleby,) it should be fine. Of course, in terms of the title of this thread, Lawhead would no doubt "get" his own books pretty well. Perhaps too well?

Yes, I know.... books are always better than the movies anyway. I voted for SoA. It's my favorite series, even though it was take someone with the creative genious of Peter Jackson to pull it off.

You know a very dark film could be made out of Search for Fierra and Siege of Dome. I really haven't seen any commentary on these books on the forum.
I can't believe I'm the only person to have read them.

you are so not the only one to have read the Empyrion saga...i just finished it again a few weeks ago. so bleh! though my vote definitely went for the SoA...i think if i worked hard enough at it, i could make a great movie version...it would be a miniseries for sure. though any of his books would make interesting movies (even though the books will always be better). one of my goals is to direct my own adaptation of SoA for television.

Don't even THINK you're the only Empyrion fan! Did you see my trivia questions on them? **feels insulted** jk.

I was just trying to get some good conversation started. I know that a great number of you have read Empyrion. Not trying to be pointed in stating that people haven't read it. I didn't catch your questions in the trivia thread on that. Sometimes things move along so quickly that I miss some of the posts. Don't hurt me for not reading every post on the forum.

Just curious to see which book will win! Had to vote for Dragon King. I've basically acted out the whole series in my backyard...

I think Byzantium would make a good movie; Adventure on a epic scale, who wouldn't pay to see that? But I think that you all are right...many times, movies just can't portray the book as it should be. I'm nervously anticipating Narnia coming out this year. That could either be brilliant or a horrible failure. WETA's working on it though, that's one point for their tally!

Do you know how long it's been since I've read that series? It's been like 15 years... or more. I'll have to add it to my reading list. ;D

How did SoA not win this poll...I think it's almost made for a good movie trilogy flow, like LOTR, though definitely NOT one movie.

The best Lawhead book for a single movie would be Patrick. It's got the same general story as Byzantium, only most people know St. Patrick, and it's significantly shorter.
