Let's see...on my plate for reading right now:
I'm re-reading all of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books
I'm reading Knight's Wyrd by Debra Doyle & James D. Macdonald (at a friend's insistence).
I'm working my way through Gormenghast again, now that I have time.
I've recently finished re-reading George R. R. Martin's three ASoIaF books that are out--I may re-read the companion short stories here soon.
I've also recently finished re-reading Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange, and last week finished Octavia Butler's Parable of the Talents.
I think the next thing I'm going to read is going to be nonfiction--Nietzsche's On the Geneology of Morals.

I'm reading an interesting book called the Einstein Paradox. It's about Sherlock Holmes investigating mysteries which involve physics topics like relativity and quantum theory. It's like Sherlock meets Physics for Dummies. Next, I'm not sure. I might reread LOTR or Narnia. Or maybe another Sister Fidelma book.

I'm reading Good Omens by Gaiman and Prachett (hysterical so far) and The Good, The Bad and The Undead by Kim Harrison (second book in a series, the first is Dead Witch Walking - highly recommended)

0o0o0o... what are the 'companion short stories here'? There are two short stories, "The Hedge Knight" and "The Sworn Sword" that chronicle events about 100 years before the main story; the novellas feature the backstory of two figures alluded to in the novels Ser Duncan the Tall (Lord Commander of the Kingsguard) and Prince Aegon (who would later be King Aegon the Unlikely). They are really good. "The Hedge Knight" is what turned me on to Martin's books. I think "The Hedge Knight" is being published by itself these days, but "The Sworn Sword" is in the Legends II anthology, which I have in hardback, but I think that they break them up, two or three stories at a time, to publish in paperback. B&N is probably the best place to look.

Books recently finished:
*The Space Trilogy by CS Lewis *Song of Albion Trilogy by You-Know-Who
*rereads
Currently reading the first of a trilogy by Ann Marston called The Rune Blade Trilogy. I happened to see these on the shelf of my local department store and decided to try her out. I like her style so far, her characters are richly detailed, dialog has an authentic feel and flows naturally.
Good books that I recommend, but shall, never the less, not read again: The Earthsea Trilogy by Ursela K. Leguin. Beautiful, lyric prose, lush characters, sweeping story... but I don't like her philosophical conclusions. Well worth reading at least once, though.
Books I could happily have thrown at the author had he stepped into the room: the first 3 Shannara books by Terry Brooks. I can only hope the man finally learned to make judicious use of a thesaurus and earned enough money off his books to hire a skilled editor.

Finished The Idiot a while back, and The Eight of Swords just afterwards (I had forgotten how easy to read those detective novels are!) Now: The Player on the Other Side by Ellery Queen (I am an unapologetic EQ-fan.)
