In that second image if the wand was a staff, that would be Gandalf without a hat. Just has that feel to it.
I love the covers.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm so anxious for this book to come out! It comes out exactly a month after my birthday. *bounces in excitement* ;D

Actually, I've always liked the cover art for the German editions more than any others. I wonder how HBP will look in Deutschland?

For the most part, I've always enjoyed the cover art done for other countries more than what is issued for the US.
I would love to pick up a copy of the story written in German. It would take me quite a while to get through but I think I could manage. I need to brush up on my abilities in German anyways.

So excited! That's a gorgeous cover. Harry looks so much older, suddenly. I guess he does in 5, too.

Even more interesting than comparing the covers is comparing the words used in the books. This site compares the words used in the UK edition vs the US edition. www.uta.fi/FAST/US1/REF/potter.htmlThe Canadian Edition hsa only a few differences from the UK one. I'm not sure about the other editions

Hmm... I seem to recall some of the British terms and some of the American from the one I read.
