I am your portion and your inheritance.

Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.

"The LORD is my portion," says my soul; "therefore I hope in Him!"

Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

February 15 -- Morning

Who can say, "I have made my heart clean"?

The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one. -- Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

To will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. -- We are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

The Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. -- God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The floods lift up their waves.

The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea. -- O LORD God of hosts, who is mighty like You, O LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds You. You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, You still them.

"Do you not fear Me?" says the LORD. "Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?"

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

Peter ... walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

February 16 -- Morning

Your name is ointment poured forth.

Christ ... has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. -- To you who believe, He is precious. -- God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. -- In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

If you love Me, keep My commandments. -- The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. -- The house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. -- They took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! -- Immanuel ... God with us. -- His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. -- The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

February 16 -- Evening

We who are in this tent groan, being burdened.

Lord, all my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You. My iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. -- O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?

The whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. -- Now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.

Shortly I must put off my tent. -- For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

The whole bull he shall carry outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire.

They took Jesus and led Him away. And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him. -- The bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. -- The fellowship of His sufferings.

Rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. -- Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

God created man in His own image.

Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising.

God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. -- For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

We know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. -- I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. -- If children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

You are my hope in the day of doom.

There are many who say, "Who will show us any good?" LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. -- I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; for You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

In my prosperity I said, "I shall never be moved." You hid Your face, and I was troubled. I cried out to You, O LORD; and to the LORD I made supplication. "What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!"

"For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you," says the LORD, your Redeemer. -- Sorrow will be turned into joy. -- Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Adam ... begot a son in his own likeness.

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? -- Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

Dead in trespasses and sins, ... by nature children of wrath, just as the others. -- I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells.

Through one man sin entered the world ... by one man's disobedience many were made sinners. -- If by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. -- If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. -- The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. -- God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise ... that no flesh should glory in His presence.

The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. -- Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!

All bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. -- No man ever spoke like this Man! -- Of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.

The year of My redeemed has come.

You shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and ... to his family.

Your dead shall live; together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction!

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name.

He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.

Jesus ... said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. -- He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise. -- To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. -- That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. -- You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The day of trial in the wilderness.

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin.

They ... lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert.

Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, ... was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."

He Himself has suffered, being tempted; He is able to aid those who are tempted. -- Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail.

I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples. And you shall be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.

Sanctified by God the Father. -- Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. -- The God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus ..., that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. -- Our ... Savior Jesus Christ ... gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. -- Both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren. -- For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. -- In sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

What you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
