Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted.

Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times." So he went out and wept bitterly. -- If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -- The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head; therefore my heart fails me. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me; O LORD, make haste to help me!

By the help of your God, return; observe mercy and justice, and wait on your God continually.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart - these, O God, You will not despise. -- He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. -- He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

November 12 -- Evening

"Is it well with you?" ... And she answered, "It is well."

We have the same spirit of faith.

As chastened, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Christ ... loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.

Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. -- Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. -- Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. -- Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. -- Your word has given me life.

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one.

Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever - the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. -- There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. -- When you pray, say, "Our Father in heaven."

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way ... let us draw near.

You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand. -- In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. -- Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass? And you forget the LORD your Maker.

I am with you to deliver you. -- Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; for You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. -- You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.

How will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan?

For the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest.

The priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. -- When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. -- God has said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people." -- Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. -- Rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

That you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. -- Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him.

We are His workmanship.

The king commanded them to quarry large stones, costly stones, and hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the temple. -- The temple, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.

You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house. -- Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. -- Who once were not a people but are now the people of God.

You are God's building. -- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. -- Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. -- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you.

My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food. -- I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. -- If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Fellow citizens with the saints.

You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. -- Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. -- The Father ... has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

As sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.

Your thoughts are very deep.

We ... do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. -- That you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! -- "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." -- Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same. -- They sow the wind, and reap the whirlwind. -- He who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption.

He who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. -- He who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. -- He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

He stays his rough wind in the day of the east wind.

Let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great. -- "I am with you," says the LORD, "to save you; ... I will correct you in justice, and will not let you go altogether unpunished." -- He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. -- I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.

God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. -- Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail.

You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half was not told me.

The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here. -- We beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

My speech and my preaching were ... in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

Your eyes will see the King in His beauty. -- We shall see Him as He is. -- In my flesh I shall see God. -- I shall be satisfied.

By their fruits you will know them.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. -- Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. -- Having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. -- A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
