April 22 -- Morning If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will. And he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him. God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering. -- Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. -- We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. -- A ransom for many. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. -- I will love them freely. -- The Son of God ... loved me and gave Himself for me. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. -- He has made us accepted in the beloved. (Leviticus 1:3,4. Genesis 22:8 -- John 1:29 -- Hebrews 10:10 -- Matthew 20:28. John 10:18 -- Hosea 14:4 -- Galatians 2:20. 2 Corinthians 5:21 -- Ephesians 1:6.)

April 22 -- Evening Great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. Fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior. I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. -- Those who trust in their wealth and boast in the multitude of their riches, none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him; for the redemption of their souls is costly. -- I have found a ransom. -- God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Psalm 86:13. Matthew 10:28. Isaiah 43:1,11,25 -- Psalm 49:6-8 -- Job 33:24 -- Ephesians 2:4-5. Acts 4:12.)

April 23 -- Morning The LORD was my support. Truly, in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains; truly, in the LORD our God Is the salvation of Israel. -- The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. -- Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. -- The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. -- So we may boldly say, "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" -- For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. By the grace of God I am what I am. (Psalm 18:18. Jeremiah 3:23 -- Psalm 18:2 -- Isaiah 12:6. Psalm 34:7,17 -- Deuteronomy 33:27 -- Hebrews 13:6 -- Psalm 18:31-32. 1 Corinthians 15:10.)

April 23 -- Evening All we like sheep have gone astray. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. -- There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. -- I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? (Isaiah 53:6. 1 John 1:8 -- Romans 3:10-11,12. 1 Peter 2:25 -- Psalm 119:176. Psalm 23:3. John 10:27-28. Luke 15:4.)

April 24 -- Morning The LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken. Trust in Him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. -- David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. -- God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. -- I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. He brought them out, after he had shown wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years. -- Not one word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel; all came to pass. He who promised is faithful. -- Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? -- Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. -- The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. (Genesis 21:1. Psalm 62:8 -- 1 Samuel 30:6 -- Genesis 50:24 -- Acts 7:34,36 -- Joshua 21:45. Hebrews 10:23 -- Numbers 23:19 -- Matthew 24:35 -- Isaiah 40:8.)

April 24 -- Evening The eyes of all wait on You. He gives to all life and breath and all things. -- The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. -- Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. The same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from whence comes my help? -- Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God. The LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. -- And it will be said in that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us; this is the LORD; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation. -- If we hope for what we do not see, then we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. (Psalm 145:15. Acts 17:25 -- Psalm 145:9 -- Matthew 6:26. Romans 10:12. Psalm 121:1 -- Psalm 123:2. Isaiah 30:18 -- Isaiah 25:9 -- Romans 8:25.)

April 25 -- Morning You shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins. You know that He was manifested to take away our sins. -- That we, being dead to sins, might live to righteousness. -- He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. The LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. -- Thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer ... that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations. -- He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance. -- Through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. -- Your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake. (Matthew 1:21. 1 John 3:5 -- 1 Peter 2:24 -- Hebrews 7:25. Isaiah 53:5,6 -- Luke 24:46-47 -- Hebrews 9:26. Acts 5:31 -- Acts 13:38-39 -- 1 John 2:12.)

April 25 -- Evening Our Lord Jesus Christ, ... though He was rich, yet for your sakes ... became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. It pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell. -- The brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. -- Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation. Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head. All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours, and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's. (2 Corinthians 8:9. Colossians 1:19 -- Hebrews 1:3-4 -- Philippians 2:6-7. Matthew 8:20. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23.)

April 26 -- Morning His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me. Underneath are the everlasting arms. -- When [Peter] saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" -- The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand. The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by Him, who shelters him all the day long; and he shall dwell between His shoulders. -- Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. -- He who touches you touches the apple of His eye. They shall never perish, neither shall anyone shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. (Song of Songs 2:6. Deuteronomy 33:27 -- Matthew 14:30-31 -- Psalm 37:23-24. Deuteronomy 33:12 -- 1 Peter 5:7 -- Zechariah 2:8. John 10:28-29.)

April 26 -- Evening Who is she who looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and awesome as an army with banners? The church of God, which He has purchased with His own blood. Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun. -- The marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright; for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints. -- The righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. The glory which You gave Me I have given them. (Song of Songs 6:10. Acts 20:28. Ephesians 5:25-27. Revelation 12:1 -- Revelation 19:7-8 -- Romans 3:22. John 17:22.)

April 27 -- Morning Brethren, the time is short. Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; he also flees like a shadow and does not continue. -- The world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. -- As in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. Death is swallowed up in victory. -- If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord; therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. -- To live is Christ, and to die is gain. Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry. -- The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. -- The end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. (1 Corinthians 7:29. Job 14:1-2 -- 1 John 2:17 -- 1 Corinthians 15:22,54 -- Romans 14:8 -- Philippians 1:21. Hebrews 10:35-37 -- Romans 13:12 -- 1 Peter 4:7.)

April 27 -- Evening A new name. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. -- Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. -- Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. -- You were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. Be imitators of God as dear children, and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints. Now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light. (Revelation 2:17. Acts 11:26 -- 2 Timothy 2:19 -- Galatians 5:24 -- 1 Corinthians 6:20. Galatians 6:14-15. Ephesians 5:1-3,8.)

April 28 -- Morning Behold the Lamb of God. It is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. Therefore, when He came into the world, He said, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, 'Behold, I have come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.'" -- He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. You were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, ... but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, ... manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him ... that your faith and hope would be in God. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing. (John 1:29. Hebrews 10:4-7 -- Isaiah 53:7. 1 Peter 1:18-21. Revelation 5:12.)

April 28 -- Evening I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected. -- Leaving the elementary principles of doctrine about Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God. -- The path of the just is like the shining light that shines brighter and brighter until the perfect day. I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. -- I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion. -- They do not rest day or night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. -- Whoever offers praise glorifies Me. -- Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. -- Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I will say, rejoice! (Psalm 71:14. Philippians 3:12 -- Hebrews 6:1 -- Proverbs 4:18. Psalm 116:1-2 -- Psalm 34:1. Psalm 65:1 -- Revelation 4:8 -- Psalm 50:23 -- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 -- Philippians 4:4.)

April 29 -- Morning Consider what great things He has done for you. You shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. You are also to consider in your heart that, as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you. I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are right, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes. Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I keep Your word. -- The LORD has chastened me severely, but He has not given me over to death. -- He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. (1 Samuel 12:24. Deuteronomy 8:2,5. Psalm 119:75,71,67 -- Psalm 118:18 -- Psalm 103:10-11,14.)
