April 7 -- Morning

As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

We ... rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we glory in tribulations also. -- I am filled with comfort; I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation. -- Believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.

In a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. -- To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ.

Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him? -- God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

April 7 -- Evening

The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them, and He bore them and carried them. -- He whom You love is sick. -- My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. -- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We do not lose heart; ... though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

In Him we live and move and have our being. -- He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength. -- The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

April 8 -- Morning

In everything you are enriched in Him.

When we were still without strength, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. -- He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

In Him dwells all the fullness of Deity bodily. And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. -- To will is present with me, but I do not find how to perform what is good. -- To each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. -- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

April 8 -- Evening

They shall see His face.

"I pray You, show me Your glory." ... But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live." -- No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. -- I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near.

I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at the last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God. -- I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness. -- We shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. -- The Lord Himself will descend from heaven, ... the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Fear not, for I have redeemed you.

Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be humiliated, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is His name, and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. -- I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. -- With the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name; he will thoroughly plead their case. -- My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.

Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

April 9 -- Evening

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us.

He brought me up ... out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. -- The Son of God ... loved me and gave Himself for me. -- He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? -- God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Who has also sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. -- Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

I am dark, but lovely.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. -- Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you, says the Lord GOD.

I am a sinful man, O Lord! -- Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair!

I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. -- You are all fair, my love, and there is no spot in you.

Evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. -- Be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.

I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells. -- You are complete in Him. -- Perfect in Christ Jesus.

You were washed, ... you were sanctified, ... you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. -- That you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's enemies will be those of his own household. -- Whoever ... wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. -- Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.

If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. A servant is not greater than his master. -- I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

My beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. -- He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. -- If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. -- By your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. -- Set a watch, O LORD, over my mouth; guard the door of my lips.

Christ ... suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps; who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously. -- Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and lose heart.

In their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God.

April 11 -- Evening

Teach me Your way, O LORD.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. -- Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way.

I am the door; if anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." -- Having boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.

Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. -- All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

What the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh.

The law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? -- By Him, everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Since the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give help to angels, but He does give help to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren.

April 12 -- Evening

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who does good, no, not one. -- There is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin. -- How can he be clean who is born of a woman?

Therefore let us fear, since a promise remains of entering His rest, lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

The LORD ... has put away your sin; you shall not die. -- Whom He justified, these He also glorified. -- We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. -- If you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel.

Walk worthy of God, who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase.

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. -- On the first day of the week, let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as God has prospered you.

God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

I beseech you ..., brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. -- The love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus, that if one died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. -- Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

There shall be no night there.

The LORD will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.

The city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and the Lamb is its light. -- They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light.

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. -- Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; who has delivered us from the power of darkness and transfered us into the kingdom of His beloved Son. -- You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light.

We are not of the night nor of darkness.

The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

April 14 -- Morning

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips; when I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.

How precious ... are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You. -- How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! -- Your love is better than wine.

Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. -- You are fairer than the sons of men.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down in his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. -- His countenance is like Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. His mouth is most sweet; yes, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend.
