It's really fun; I wish there were some way of transmitting to you how to do it. As I said, it's becoming something of a lost art. I agree, it is fun! But not completely a lost art. Here's a website I found for an easy, yet authentic, method of hand bookbinding: Coptic Stitch Bookbinding

For those who are interested (otherwise, why are you reading this?), Lord of the Forest is already listed at Amazon UK! Evidently, it's going to be released there on May 6th. That's going to be sooooo tempting.
It's listed as the first book of the "King Raven" trilogy. Sounds intriguing.
There is one odd thing. It's listed as only having 352 pages. Seems a bit light for Lawhead. Maybe it's a typo.
Just passing the info... -Raven

Because I don't navigate this Forum much at all and I don't spend a lot of time surfing I am probably not putting this notice in the best of places but here it is none-the-less.
Robin Hood is indeed the topic of the next series of Lawhead books. It is to be a trilogy whose first release is due out September of 2006. It will be published by WestBow Press, which is just the current name of Thomas Nelson Publishers fiction division. The following two volumes will release the next two Septembers. I read this "rumor" on an unofficial Lawhead site and followed it up to the source, calling the editors at WestBow and speaking with them. I am the assistant manager and the bookbuyer for a bookstore in Kentucky and my favorite author just happens to be Lawhead so you can imagine my excitement at having verified this news. I also questioned the editors about the content of the books, whether they were taking pains to assure it would be CBA acceptable. As some of you may know, his previous work, Patrick, was yanked off CBA (Christian Bookstore Association) shelves because of controversy over an early scene in the book. Though I personally wasn't concerned about content controversy, I know a lot of my customers are. WestBow assured me they were aware of past controversies and were making sure that it didn't happen again--but without sacrificing anything Lawheadian about the books. So, there you have it. My conversation also covered the rumor that Hero! was being shopped around and I asked if Nelson was picking that one up as well. The editor I talked with wasn't aware of that but then she wasn't the head editor (whom I am told is also a huge fan of Lawhead personally). Perhaps we could all e-mail the editors at Westbow and/or Thomas Nelson and get them to pick up his other books that have never seen hardcover? Perhaps we could get them to buy the rights from HarperCollins/Zondervan and reissue them? Could we be so furtunate as to get his children's books re-released in hardcover here in the states? What might the possibilities be?

I do look forward to his take on Robin Hood and whatever else he throws in there. I don't know much about the legend, sad to say, apart from cartoons.
Really, I would look forward to anything from Lawhead right about now. It's been a LOOONG time.
