Here's an interesting thought. If the Albion Series was being made into a film, which actors would you cast as the characters? Maybe Brad Pitt as Simon? It's not that easy. The characters in the book are so much larger than life and have such strength of character (whether good or bad) that today's "little" actors might not be good enough. Let's see what you think.
???Don't forget to say who you think should direct the movie as well. How about Mel Gibson. He understands history and Christianity and knows how to make a good epic. What do you think?

For Simon, I pictured someone taller and younger than Brad Pitt. With an english accent. Llew should be an American, someone you is shorter and can be made to look less attractive and out of shape, at first.

Sorry if you guys did this "casting call" before but it was before my time. Maybe there's some new SRL members and also a whole fresh batch of actors too. I guess I'm not very original. Sorry again.

I don't remember one before. But Dinadan's been around for AGES.
I don't know who should be cast for Tegid. That's a tough call.

Hmm, i seem to recognize the thread as well but refering to the pendragon cycle. I think someone like jude law would be the right look for simon

I think someone like jude law would be the right look for simon Hah! Exactly who I was thinking! Some other thoughts... (its gonna be hard to pick actors that haven't been in other epics I've seen recently). Llew - A complex role. Has to start of as a weedy American scholar and become a charismatic celtic king... would be someone out of the ordinary, I imagine. Matthew Fox from 'Lost' perhaps? Or Keanu Reeves? Tegid - I'm going with an Aussie on this one... Eric Bana comes to mind for some reason. I liked his acting work in Troy. Meldron - If Brad Pitt is going to be in at all... this one is the job for him. Creepy, creepy man. Or Leo di Caprio. Its gotta be a ill-tempered pretty-boy for this role. Just insert your least favourite actor here. Nettles - Ian Holm (Bilbo Baggins in LOTR) Paladyr - Doesn't need to really act. Just find the biggest guy available in Hollywood. Olathir (cameo) - Liam Neeson?

Llew absoltely can't be Keanu. **shudders at the thought** I can't think of the perfect Llew, but it wouldn't be him.

Yeah, I know... from an acting viewpoint he falls down. Appearance wise, he is the dark brooding type Llew's character needs, thats all.

I would definately say Leo DiCaprio for Meldron, and Ian Holm for Nettles. Llew is a hard one to cast. What about Samuel West? He played King Caspian in the BBC version of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Dr. Frankenstien in Van Helsing. He's in his late 30's, but has a very boyish look to him.

Looks almost right for the part... the other one that came to mind over night was Collin Farrell. Think he'd make a very appropriate Llew (lets forget the stain that was Alexander)

llew is such a complex character, one not typically seen in movies any more, I think an unkown would be good.

An unknown would be good if it is a really good actor and that can be risky if casting isn't done well.
*cough* hayden christensen *cough*
What about Hugh Jackman? He was a good romantic lead in Kate and Leopold and an excellect action character as Wolverine in the X-Men movies. I don't know if he can do paunchy or weedy at the beginning, though.

Jackman, to me, seems like he'd be a better Bran Bresal.
