Has anyone seen the 13th Warrior? There are a couple in the 13 who would (I think) make excellent Ravens, excluding Ahmed (Antonio Banderas) and Buliwyf/Beowulf of course. Actually, one of the warriors would probably also make a decent Cynan; red hair and all.
Llew is a hard cast. Alot of the other characters can be summed up physically, but Llew is two people- Lewis from our world and then Llew, who's a man of Albion. Finding an actor who can not only act but physically portray both parts would be tough. might have to call in some CGI or extreme makeup effects to fill the gap.

I think Jeremy Irons (played Brom in Eragon) would be a good Ollathir or Tegid, but Sean Bean from LOTR and National Treasure would be good too. Sean Bean can pull off the "nobility" of characters well and Jeremy portrays the "stern but caring" teacher/mentor.

I know he's probably too old, but I think Rufus Sewell would make the most perfect Simon.

I agree that it would be best if they were mostly unknowns, or up and comers. I wonder who Stephen Lawhead would pick... I also think that to do the books justice there would have to be at least two movies, or else everything would be rushed and cramped feeling. You couldn't convey the length and importance of the time he was there in anything under 3 hours. The landscape alone would need a whole movie . But then again, as much as I would love to see these as movies, it would feel as though I had lost my own *sight* of the story. if that makes any sense. I would only be able to see the actors and a directors take on the story and not my own. It's one of those stories that I love being able to see in my head for the very reason that no one could possibly portray them as I see them. Somewhat like The Passion or LOTR as amazingly well done as they are, I almost feel as though they could tarnish the imagination. Anywho, I think I've rambled enough, and yes I would pay a good bit of money to see these if they are ever made. Undoubtedly numerous times

Troy Polamalu should be a Raven (even though he's a Steeler news.steelers.com/team/player/49230/). He's got the body, the hair, the complection, and the personality. He'd be awesome. What does anyone think about James Marsden (sp?) as a main character? He has a smile that could be Simon, but I've never seen him be cruel...who knows.

for a younger cast, i would think Hayden Christensen for Llew and Harry Lloyd from BBC's Robin Hood for Tegid would be good. but that's just my opinion! as for Simon I have no idea.

Whatever the guy's name is who plays Murtagh on Eregon could be Simon. And I imagine Tegid could be played by Rupert Friend or Ioan Gruffudd. I still can't think of anyone for Llew!

Laurence Fox for Simon. Llew I would probably go for Colin Farrell

I think the kid who played Murtagh from Eragon could play Tegid (this movie would take so long to make that by the time he was casted, he'd be much older. ) Llew would have to be someone Welsh (as the language resembles Welsh) who could also play an English-fluent character.

Lol! I cast the kid who played Murtagh as Simon because I DON"T like him! I wouldn't want him as my favorite SOA character! ;D Why a Welsh guy, Reguba? Llew is supposed to be American. How bout James McAvoy as Llew? he's Scottish.

I think he'd have to be Welsh because it's pretty darn hard for anybody to learn Gaelic-like languages, and welsh is closest to the language used in the books. James McAvoy...*thinks* He could probably be one of the ravens; Llew'd have to be a new actor I think, because he's not exactly described as dashing.
