So many directions we could go here - but I'll avoid the popular classics and go more recent:
I'll say Band of Brothers - I found it extremely addicting, and it will probably be the newest addition to my movie library within the next couple weeks (once I find the $120).

Ah, I have so many favorites. LotR and The Mummy have already been mentioned, so, for starters I'll say...
Finding Neverland. I just watched it last night and in the "immortal" words of Larry the Cucumber, "I laughed, I cried, it moved me Bob."

I'll go for a big change of directions and go to a much older film I've always enjoyed. Hatari Anyone like John Wayne?

As far as sheer thrill of going to the theatre, I'll say my favorite is The Fellowship of the Ring. We were looking forward to that one literally for years before it came out.
But since it already has been suggested, I'll say anything with Mel Gibson(particularly Signs)

As far as older movies go, Rebecca and Spartacus are my favorites. I still have to see the Lon Chany Phantom of the Opera

I've decided I think my top five are (in no particular order) -
Fight Club, Saved!, The Incredibles, Signs, and The Matrix
Though, I haven't seen Sin City yet and from what people say it has the potential to knock off perhaps Fight Club from the list...this was a very hard list to come up with (only 5), and would probably be different a year from now, *shrugs*. Saved! fills in my comedy spot, but there were a lot of other great comedies that could've been there... (ie. Dodgeball, Old School, Robin Hood Men In Tights, etc). I just picked Saved! since it's comedy isn't fictional...it's, like, about real people I know, lol.

Little Lord Fauntleroy
Alec Guinness and Rick Shroder did an amazing job. Patrick Stewart was in there also. I love this movie.
