A message from Stephen Lawhead -
"It may interest you to know that the publisher is gearing up for a major re-release of the Song of Albion series. I mention this because they would like to hear suggestions from solid fans about what they think readers would like to see as a 'special feature' to be included in the book (and author interview, a map, a glossary, for example) to give the new releases value-added appeal."
So my question to you is this... What do you want to see in the new release?
1) Please VOTE for your favorite
2) If voting "OTHER", please indicate in your post what you would add instead.
3) I would also like EVERYONE to post the TOP 3 things they would like to see added to the new release, in the order of importance.

1) Interview 2) Map 3) Glossary

Yep. I voted Other. What I'd love to see is some illustrations (I know that isn't really SRL's thing since I don't really see any in any of his books. But I;d still love to see some... they don't even have to be mixed in with the story... or even that many, just a couple pages in the back would work for me.
1) Illustrations 2) Glossary 3) Map

I voted map first. But he could also include a copy of Jeff Johnson's companion musical CDs.

Oh, yeah! And a slipcased set of hardbacks with those CDs would be excellent! I wonder if there's some "Albion version of Alan Lee" out there somewhere quietly doing watercolors and sketches, laying groundwork for an eventual movie? A map would be nice, if it is one that conveys the idea of how immense this land is, instead of just an overlay of the British Isles.

1. I, too, vote for the CDs! I'd love to hear them with the books. 2. A good set of hardcovers (slipcases are always good) 3. Illustrations! I'd love some eloquent artwork. 4. May I have the interview and the map too? *grin*
Edited to add: I'd definitely cut into my budget to buy this set!

1. Interview 2. Map 3. Glossary
I would love a real personal, in-depth interview. Something that really gets into the "why" about the characters and the story. I can think of nothing I would anticipate more than 10 minutes in the mind of Mr. Lawhead!

My edition already has an interview, and there's nothing else I'd consider buying totally new copies for. I read for the story, nothing else, and so I usually buy the cheapest edition available. If there were CDs with it, yet the price was below seven dollars, and the cover was the same, I might, however, repurchase it.

I was thinking of a few more ideas.... I thought it would be cool to see an "Epilogue" or "Short Story" as to what happened after the Endless Knot? Maybe a teaser SRL could build off of to write a sequel to the series someday. The other idea was a collector's case to hold the 3 books... maybe instead of being the typical hardback with dustjacket... have the cover in hard leather, like the Easton Press books....

You see, I was saving the leather bound hard cover idea for the Pendragon Cycle... so you can't have it for your SoA! Could you imagine? Leather bound hard cover... THAT I'd buy in a heart-beat! *drool*

I'm afraid I can't. The Pendragon Cycle is such a form is the dominate image in my mind... sorry, it's genetics

Would an interactive map on CD-ROM be too much to ask for? I suppose that's pushing my luck a bit, eh?
