Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation nor shadow of turning. -- The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. -- It is through the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions do not fail.

He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. -- Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

The fruit of the Spirit is love.

God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. -- The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. -- To you who believe, He is precious. -- We love Him, because He first loved us. -- The love of Christ drives us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

You yourselves are taught by God to love one another. -- This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. -- Above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. -- Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a fragrant aroma.

Jehovah-nissi [The LORD is my banner].

If God is for us, who can be against us? -- The LORD is on my side; I will not fear; what can man do to me?

You have given a banner to those who fear You.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise against me, In this I will be confident.

God Himself is with us as our head. -- The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them.

Why do the nations rage, and the people devise a vain thing? He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the LORD shall hold them in derision. -- Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak the word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.

God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

Now for a little while, if need be, you have been distressed by various trials, that the proving of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. -- The Lord stood with me and strengthened me.

Let those who suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest. There the prisoners rest together; they do not hear the voice of the oppressor.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on; ... they ... rest from their labors, and their works follow them.

"Our friend Lazarus sleeps." Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.

We who are in this tent groan, being burdened. -- We also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we have been saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. ... But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with perseverance.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him. -- Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it," whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that I and Your people have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, I and Your people, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.

The prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

You will have treasure in heaven; ... come, follow Me. -- I am ... your exceedingly great reward.

Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. -- They shall reign forever and ever.

You will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. -- The crown of life. -- The crown of righteousness. -- An imperishable crown.

Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me. -- So we shall always be with the Lord.

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. -- Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

We walk by faith, not by sight. -- We do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. -- An inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.

He bowed his shoulder to bear.

My brethren, take, the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. -- Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

"Shall we accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips. -- Aaron held his peace. -- It is the LORD. Let Him do what seems good to Him.

Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you. -- Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me!

Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants are toward the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes are toward the LORD our God. -- Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. -- You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm.

Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps; who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.

Fight the good fight of faith.

We were troubled on every side; outside were conflicts, within were fears. -- Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. -- Strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. -- God is my strength and power. He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. -- Our sufficiency is from God.

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. -- Behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

The time would fail me to tell of [all those] who through faith subdued kingdoms, ... out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

He preserves the way of His saints.

The LORD your God ... went in the way before you, to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, to show you the way you should go, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day. -- As an eagle stirs up her nest, hovers over her young, spreading out her wings, taking them up, carrying them on her wings, so the LORD alone led him. -- The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand. -- Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. -- For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. -- We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. -- With us is the LORD our God, to help us, and to fight our battles.

The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness.

My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?

He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him; ... the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. ... For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. It pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.

Jesus our Lord ... was delivered up because of our offenses. -- Christ ... suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. -- Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.

Your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is His name.

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, ... but you shall be called Hephzibah [My delight is in her], for the LORD delights in you. And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. -- He has sent Me ... to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, ... as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

My times are in Your hand.

All His saints are in Your hand. -- The word of the LORD came to [Elijah], saying, "Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there." ... Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, "Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you."

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean not your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. -- Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
