Those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. -- I will trust and not be afraid; for YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. -- For the LORD loves justice, and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. -- The LORD will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you His people. -- Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us.

Be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

They are without fault before the throne of God.

The iniquity of Israel shall be sought, but there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, but they shall not be found; for I will pardon those whom I preserve. -- Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.

He has made us accepted in the Beloved. -- To present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth.

Jehovah Nissi [The LORD is my banner]. -- When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! -- The LORD has revealed our righteousness. Come and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God. -- We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. -- Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. -- The captain of their salvation.

January 9 -- Evening

One thing is needed.

There are many who say, "Who will show us any good?" LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. -- O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. -- Lord, give us this bread always. -- Mary ... sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. -- One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ ... loved the church and gave Himself for her, ... that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. -- Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

The peace of God ... surpasses all understanding. -- Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body.

Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. -- Who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Will God indeed dwell with men on the earth?

Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. -- I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory. I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God.

You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, even from the rebellious, that the LORD God might dwell there.

You are the temple of the living God. As God has said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people." -- Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you. -- You ... are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

The nations also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.

Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion.

For us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. -- All should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. -- By Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. -- Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.

I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" Who redeems your life from destruction.

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name. -- I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction!

As the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

You died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. -- When He comes ... to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe.

God ... Who alone is wise.

Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. -- Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than heaven; what can you do? Deeper than Sheol; what can you know?

We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory. -- The mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. -- The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

When shall I arise, and the night be ended?

Yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry. -- He shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds.

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You have heard Me say to you, "I am going away and coming back to you."

Let all Your enemies perish, O LORD! But let those who love Him be like the sun when it comes out in full strength. -- You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.

Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. -- I will trust and not be afraid; for YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.

Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? -- Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. -- In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.

The effect of righteousness: quietness and assurance forever. -- Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. -- Peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come.

Do not let the sun go down on your wrath.

"If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother." "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." -- Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

As the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. -- Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

My Father is greater than I.

When you pray, say, "Our Father in heaven." -- My Father and your Father, ... My God and your God.

As the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. -- The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. -- You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

"Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?" -- I and My Father are one. -- As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men. -- He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

This is your hour, and the power of darkness. -- You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above.

The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. -- He ... cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.

All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. -- In My name they will cast out demons.

The God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.

My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.

If ... you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For ... your life is hidden with Christ in God. -- Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

The flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. -- Brethren, we are debtors - not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. -- Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.
