Anyone want to definate it for me. . .it's such a complicated emotion that I'm struggling with right now. . .so what is it? lol...I feel for you, Preia...I'm struggling with that too. I guess there are different types of love...actually, the word "love" is such a whore...you "love" your dog, you "love" chocolate, you "love" your significant other, your family, your friends, etc. I guess love at its most basic state is just affection. A little further down the line comes attachment, i.e. friends and family. Then love becomes devotion, i.e. significant other, God, etc.
I am really confused about it too, right now...but I have decided to go with the flow and see where it takes me, lol. Right now, for me, love is when you will do anything for someone simply because it's for them and will make them happy.

what is love of someone outside of your family. . . someone who may or may not be your friend. . . Hmm...that would be attraction, affection, concern, companionship, something like that I guess...
Really...love is an emotion...emotions are intangible and therefore undefinable...all anyone can do is try their best to define them, lol...Idk...I'm kind of confused on this one too, lol

Love is also an act of will... I don't feel warm fuzzies all the time, but I love my family.

It's rather annoying that it's so complicated. . .

Love...well, it's not pretty. I mean, we get all worked up over Love, we have these romantizations of it; the truth is, Love hurts--it's supposed to hurt. Love leaves raw, open, gaping wounds in your chest.
I realize I only say this because I'm bitter. But, I thought, what the hell, I'd share anyway.

I don't think it's just because you're bitter. . .I think you have to have those wounds so that you can be happy. . .at least that's what Hitch seemed to be alluding to. . .

Even then, do we figure it out. . .I think I know what love is when I see it. . .but what is love in your life. . .how do you recognize it. . .you know?

How do I recognize it? I don't really know...I guess when I get that little "love" feeling in the pit of my stomach...I've never really thought about this one. Right now, my loves are music, Amon, my family, my friends, Josh Groban, reading, chocolate, etc. All of them are on different levels...but still it all counts as love...why? I don't know...

"Love" - Petra
Love is patient, love is kind No eyes of envy, true love is blind Love is humble, it knows no pride No selfish motive hidden inside Love is gentle, makes no demands Despite all wrong, true live still stands Love is holy, love is pure It lasts forever, it will endure
(Chorus) Love knows when to let go Love knows when to say no Love grows in the light of the Son And love shows the world that the Son of Love has come
Love is loyal, believes the best It loves the truth, love stands the test Love is God sent in His Son Love forgives all we have done
In this world where hatred seems to grow True love goes against the flow And becomes so hard to show
In this world where push turns to shove We have strength to rise above Through the power of His love Lord, we need to know the power of Your love

If we accept that Love is perfect and transcends all flesh, then we posit that only God is capable of Love--all that humans can do is imitate it. This leads to all kinds of problems--we can only imitate True Love, and often must settle for less than perfect love. It is this mortal, less-than-perfect love that is our problem; not because it is in itself bad, but because we expect that Other kind and never get it from fellow humans.
