I agree that love hurts. Baby, does it hurt. My girlfriend lives 600 miles away and i see her about once a year.

I've always thought about the phrase "Love conquers all" being coutered by Stalin's famous quote "How many battalions has the Pope?"

My ex lived 800 miles away Fantasy...saw her 3 weeks out of the nine months we dated. that was poo...
What is Love? To lay your life down, to save another This is love, to give yourself to those who don't deserve When Mercy smooths the furrowed ground of justice, we will understand what love is.
Love is a verb, love is simply death to self and living in Christ. I do not believe that you can truly love outside of being filled with it to overflowing by Jesus as Dinadan pointed out . Any other action based upon attraction or reciprication is simply selfish, and thus cannot be love, for love is by nature selfless.
it's nice having a forum I can be candid about this stuff on.

LOVE???.....love, eh?.....love is grand....love is wonderful....love is evil....love is a strange feeling in the pit of your stomach.....love is what make the world go 'round....all you need is love.....love is a many splendored thing.
to put it simply, "Love is"
that's it....all my experience with love summed up in two little words.....Love is......love is something that all the world knows, yet will never truly understand.....the best way to love is to accept that it exists and accept that that's all you'll ever truly know about it.

All these people make great points. How can you explain what love is other than saying love is love. It's evereywhere, but if your talking about your true love that's a different story. It's something different for everyone, but for me, it was the feeling that this is what God wants for me. You know, this is having your cake and eating it too, with God's approval. Of course there's going to be the ups and downs of all human realtionships, but the downs don't matter, when the ups are so great!!!! TEXT

i apologize for bringing up old matters... I haven't been on for awhile(as I said).
Jesus said, "Greater LOVE has no man than this: that he lay down his life for his friends."
we can discuss what love is, but I have it from a VERY reliable source what the GREATEST love is...

I think the greatest love would have to be the love of a mother for her child. I am not a mother (yet), but I still feel the basic fierce protectiveness when I am caring for my sisters, my cousins, or just children in general. I can only imagine what love I will feel when I have children of my own. No offense to the men out there, but you will never fully understand that bond...the umbillical cord might be severed physically, but the connection between the hearts is there to stay.
I just imagine what Mary must have felt to watch her son...who she carried, bore, and raised...to be tortured and murdered in front of her eyes while she could only watch. Ok, ok...I've just been on a pilgrimage and seen The Passion, canya tell? lol

The song, Mary Did You Know, speaks to this....

I found my answer on this. . .
"Love is a feeling of deep devotion, concern, and affection." It's from something my church puts out and I was reading it this weekend and I was like, that's it!
