$2.79 here today.
Alternative power sources would be great. Hydrogen is cheap, burns clean, and can be made from water. I mean, Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe--why aren't we using it again?

That is pretty slick. At least they have a sense of humor. Sick but it's still a sense of humor.

Gas prices have risen a lot here, but I've decided not to complain anymore. After what I saw on the news last night ... the devastation and loss. To see what people are going through just to make it through the day has certainly embarrassed me. The little extra I pay for gas is nothing compared to what others in the South are going through.

When I woke up this morning, the gas station across the street had regular $3.09...this morning when I passed it on my way in from being out and about, it was down to $2.89.
I'm wondering what in the world has happened. I know they tapped 30 million barrels from the strategic reserve, but the OK for that just happened today--surely its effect hasn't hit the market that quickly.

Ok, that's hilarious, as my husband actually paid $45 for a tank of gas the other day.

I remember the good old days when gas was a buck. . . took me 9 bucks to fill up. . . jeezz Those days are gone for good. I hope that this crisis, which is being brought on only by damage to one of our many supply lanes, really lets the people of the US see how much we over depend on petroleum fuel. The response to this madness should be a demand for alternative power sources to be made available to the general public.

I don't know why, since the NW usually has notoriously high fuel prices, but gas is currently $2.79... but that's up $.10 since yesterday.
I currently walk to work. I gave up my car because I couldn't afford the repairs, insurance or gas (even back when the price of gas was $1.50). What I'm concerned about is the price of natural gas which we use to heat our house. Last winter I kept the house at about 55-60 degrees most the time and barely was able to pay the bill...
