I am anxious to read it. SRL's second books are often the best.

Actually, 12 months (or slightly less) is a pretty fast release for an author of such complex works. The publisher could have easily dragged out the suspense another 6 months. But, shhhh...don't give them any of those nasty ideas for Book 3!

True, true. I've waited a much longer time for some sequels. But it's the KNOWING that it's finished that's getting to me! : P But it is true that I can content myself with his other works which I have not read. He wrote some of them before I was born! Yeppers. Fact. I think...*scratches head* But yes! *laughs at Dgan's siggy* elephants

Seems to me that they would sell more books if they were delivered quicker. But then I don't know the business. Anyway, it suffices to say that the sooner Hood 2 arrives, the better.

LOL As antsy as I am for the next one to come out, that is the price you pay for reading a brand new novel (that is first in a series)--the writing takes time! We don't want to rush it!! That said, I just finished Hood and it is SO great!! I can't wait for the next one!!!

So I have been quite agitated lately with waiting for this book. I ordered Hood online on the 1st of June and it said it would ship within 24 hours. I got a notification that it shipped today. But I guess now that I have it I can read it and The Mystic Rose (which I'm still waiting to receive) before Scarlet is released. Most of you must think that I have plenty of time to read these between now and then but I have 12 hours of summer classes to keep me busy as well haha. Even though earlier in the summer I read the Dragon King Saga in 4 days (about 300 pages a day give or take) but I had plenty of time and nothing else to hinder me. I have also recently seen the entire BBC series on Robin Hood and it has got me in the mood for some good ol Lawhead style Hood.
I know this doesn't have much of anything to do with this discussion but I thought I would post it anyway... mainly because I'm bored ...

I know what you mean. I don't always have a great deal of time but I try to read things over and over while waiting for the next book to come out. I'm thinking I'll reread Hood a week or two before Scarlet comes out to refresh my memory.

I think you'll get mixed answers from different people here. I really like King Raven, wonderfully written trilogy. However, SoA are some of my favorite books of all time and definitely near the top of my SRL list.
