Oh, SRL is a wonderful writer, third person or first, I concour. I'm just saying that his true talent is exposed in his first person stories.

I'm glad you liked it. This was a great book and I'm trying to keep myself in check so I don't go nuts waiting for Scarlet. Have fun with the other books. They're really great as well.

Hi All! I'm new, and Hood is the first SRL book I've read. I saw it in the bookstore and the cover snagged my fancy (an awful way to choose a book, I know) But have you seen the Australian cover?? It's so mysterious and, and...GOOD!!! So I read it in a day, and yeh, now I'm a fan... A Question...does anyone think that the raven he saw when he was a child was Rhi Bran from the legend that Angharad told him? And that Angharad is the old woman from that same tale?? Just my initial thought, and I haven't poked around to see if it's a thread yet...

Good to see you found us, hoodedwarrior. We've been waiting for you! It is so difficult to say with SRL. Sometimes the seemingly obvious develop to become much more complex - then, just when you're expecting something deeply intriguing, he hits you with a simple truth. It seems apparent to me that what you described is exactly what he wants us to think...but why does he want us to think that? We'll have to wait and see! Have fun browsing, and even more fun posting!

Hmmm. Good point...but they're even described the same way, something about old, ugly, with leaves in their hair!!! ARRGGH It's twisting my brain...

Welcome to the boards. I'm glad you liked the book that well.
I agree with dgan exactly on what might be taking place here.
I think we might just have to wait and see with the rest of the series for what SRL decides to show us.

I guess you'll just have to content yourself with reading some of his other books until then.
Don't worry. We'll all be getting more and more anxious as the arrival date of the next book comes closer.
