AHHH!!!! I am here! Never fear! I meant to leave a message letting everyone know that I was going to be really busy for a few weeks but I forgot. From being out of town on business two weeks straight to dealing with family issues (hate it when stuff hits the fan) to trying to get my fantasy football league up and running (still got some spots left for anyone interested ) and working on my story for another site my life has been a bit nuts. Still trying to figure out my RP character too. You all are kind of intimidating for a newbie to RPing. I will make my proverbial splash though as only I can. lol! I am here though but will probably in and out for a little bit longer. ~Sarah

I'm glad you're back. Sorry that things have been so hectic for you. I understand how that goes. I've been really swamped lately and it has forced me to give up some of my time online.
If you want help RPing, let me know. I've done a fair amount and am very willing to assist in any way. I know you'll get it figured out.

Ooooh, I just noticed the wrench I unintentionally threw into the works while I was away and not paying as close attention. Sorry about that. I fixed as much as I could. Perhaps we could have the village meeting this evening instead???

I've got a way to work that in, I'm just letting the current conversation run it's course before I setup the "village meeting". It will be another night of food and fellowship with a little more information being shared by the chief. To work it in, I will probably use a little narrative to recap what has been shared over the 6 nights (like the names of some of the surrounding area and the others who are already in the village) and then add to it.
BTW, I'm really interested to read what backstory you guys come up with for your crossover characters.

Ok, here's the deal. I like the foundation we've built in Sherwydd, but I don't know what to do next. Can we have some action? Maybe I'm too used to the Never-Ending Story, but I'm itching for things to move along. I just don't know what to do about it. Anyone else having a hard time?

I understand what you mean. I've had different ideas about where to take things but was unsure what everyone wanted to do. Some activities not everyone might want to participate in.
Here are some ideas to consider.
There are still buildings that need to be finished both on land and on shore to expand the village.
There could be some trouble outside the valley from another clan.
We could have some people accidentally cross over and are in need of us to get them back.
There could be a pestilence spreading across the land.
Raiders could be causing trouble.
Training the youth in the ways of village life. This could include training with weapons, how to fish and hunt, build, etc.
These are just a few ideas that have been mulling around in the back of my head.

LOL Let's do all of them! Though I think raiders sounds most interesting.

I had a feeling that someone might want to do them all. I suggest spacing some of them out so we aren't completely buried under activity.

The rival clan thing is where I think it could go, because rival clans became raiders, stealing cattle and sheep, but you could have it mean so much more with the crossover thing. The rival clan could be helped by a malevolent group/individual.
I agree with Dred that a little more establishment is necessary, but like Dan says we need to start having some adventures.
*** side note: I have some time today, so I will be adding some resource info for Sherwydd. ***
*** extra side note: We need sarahpenycat to jump on board as our horse trainer. I have left that open for her to develop the character like she wants, but if we start doing some adventuring soon we may need to have horses soon as well. ***

I think we can probably have a few horses that are already trained. Some of us had to travel a fair distance just to arrive at the village. I for example have a horse that is well trained. We can play things that our horses are old and well trained but we'll be needing younger horses before long. That is just one way to deal with that issue until sarah can get online.
We can play with these things any number of ways. For example, we could start out by having some of our cattle stolen, we investigate, find out that a rival clan is doing this to us. The further into it we go we learn that this other clan is being helped by people not from Albion.
That is just one way it could go. There are quite a few different storylines we can play with.

The only thing about the horses is that Maccus (DanTheMan) said he noticed that none of us had horses. I was just following that trail of thought.

Yes, I recall him saying that. I believe I had mentioned in my first couple of comments in the RPing that I had my horse off in the trees. It isn't a big deal. I can pretty much say that it was stolen or had run off. Makes no big difference to me.

Oh no! I forgot that. You're right. Keep the horse and we can use it for sure. You know some who can ride - some who can't. It will also keep my character occupied with the fact that you guys have horses but he doesn't.
