Yup... 1/5 = Don't even bother going to see this...don't even bother pirating it...it is that bad. If you MUST go see it...bring a barf bag
2/5 = Terrible...if you really, REALLY want to see this movie, download it in protest of it's awfulness
3/5 = I didn't like it...but other people might. Good overall...but not my cup of tea. Rent it or see a matinee.
4/5 = Very good movie...see it once in theatres or buy it when it comes out on video or DVD. Not a masterpiece, but still very enjoyable
5/5 = Flippin' awesome! Go see this movie now! See it multiple times, I'll understand...lol. Definitely buy this one...buy collecter's editions if you can, lol.
And that is how I rate...TADA!

The Sixth Sense--Continuing my foray into Shaymalana, I picked this up the other day. Of course, I had been spoiled (curse you, internet! ) but I liked it all the same. Better, far, than Signs, and no doubt better than Unbreakable--especially the end--although the latter is still my favorite. Osmet is very good--though he reminds me of Margret O'Brien (ick.) Little use is made of gross-out or horror (though one ghost did make me jump....); the focus is instead on Willis and Osmet. Where it should be.

Oh, Saved! cracks me up. It's like a (slightly) exaggerated version of my high school. And I was definitely was one of the "outsider" kids.

However, by the time I was a sophomore and had a car, I'd cut chapel and go home. I mean, I couldn't see wasting 45 minutes like that.

I guess that would've been mine had it more students and...money.

Yes, however, being a God-fearing, Jesus loving school didn't stop us from having the largest drug traffic and teenage pregnancy rate per person in our private school association. And, wonder of wonders, the people most into the drug scene and the unwed mothers were almost always the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) people--or as we often called them "the Jocks for Jesus."

Wow... All 3 of us went to a Christian School? What are the odds, eh? In our school, it was the Teacher's Kids, Missionaries Kids, Preacher's Kids and Board Member's kids you had to watch out for... I was a member of both groups... Teacher's and Preacher's kid.... ;D

Heh. No matter what one does, one loses something.
Once Upon a Time in the West--Definitely not a "whole-family" movie--unless the "whole family" is well above fifteen or so--it's a Spaghetti (spelling?) Western by Sergio Leone. Called by some the "first postmodern filmaker," Leone makes his film up of references and homages--overt and subtle--to the great American western movies. This is the film, I believe, that changed forever the way I would look at Henry Fonda. The pace is a bit slow, so it's not for everyone--though personally I prefer slow pacing. (That's part of the reason I prefer Unbreakable to Signs.)

I just watched The Bourne Identity. Again. I didn't like it the first time, I thought it was crap, but I didn't like thrillers then. Now it's one of my favourite films. And The Bourne Supremacy is even better. Wickedness.

lol...I went ot public schools all my life...and I am a very well rounded individual. I've been exposed to all sorts of beliefs and situations, and I've been allowed to make my own decisions on how to handle all of them. And I would not have it any other way.
To Sir, With Love A classic "coming of age" story about a black teacher who changes the lives of his white students, encouraging them to be adults and the best people they can be. I love the theme song especially...very beautiful. The changes that take place are phenomenal...and it closely follows the book. I give it a 5/5.
