You kidding me? I love this group. Punk rock with an epic, orchestral twist. Amy Lee has the most beautifully haunting voice; the group would most definitely NOT be the same without her singing. I'll never forget one morning, I was running late for work and happened to catch the video for Bring Me To Life on VH1... instantly, utterly hooked.
There are quite a few good tracks on their "Origin" CD but it's extremely hard to come by. There are alternate versions of some of their "Fallen" songs (like My Immortal and Whisper) and some fantastic others (like Anywhere, which is great). I have to admit, I actually like the "Origin" version of My Immortal better. The one on "Fallen" is kind of soft and pretty, but the "Origin" version is just more my style.
Definitely a big fan of these guys. I look forward to their next album, whenever that will be released. In the meantime, "Fallen" is one of the few albums I own where I thoroughly enjoy every single track and can listen to it repeatedly without getting sick of it. Great, great stuff.

I like them...but, I feel about them pretty much the way I feel about Cradle of Filth--some of their music is really good, but when I'm in the mood for epic eurometal, I'll just listen to some great eurometal bands (like Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica) rather than listen to american bands trying to do eurometal.

Yeah, the first time I heard them was the music video on VH1 as well. I fell in love with it. I have another CD of theirs... Not For Your Ears. Have you heard of that one? it has a lot of remixed songs and a few new ones too.

I love Evanescence! A friend of mine made a human video to "Bring Me To Life" for something at church. It would've given you all chills had you seen it.

I think it was taped, but I don't know where it's at or anything. It was nice though. I'm singing "Imaginary" right now.

Although I strongly hinted at my wife that a great Father's Day gift would be their DVD "Anywhere but Home". I hope she got the hint. ;D

I hope she got the hint. ;D I just bought that at Walmart yesterday for $18.85. Awesome Deal!!! It not only has a CD, but a DVD featuring concerts for every song and Music Videos for 4 or their songs and behind the scenes stuff. I haven't gotten through the whole DVD, but the Music Videos rock my world. w00t!!!!

The first time I heard them on the radio was right as Passion of the Christ was coming out. I hadn't seen the movie, so I didn't know....but I assumed it was the soundtrack for the movie. She has such a "spiritual" voice - I'm not sure how else to describe it.
I've found, though, I can only listen to Amy's voice for about 5 minutes before I start to cringe. Not quite sure why.

In less than 20 hours, Evanescence is in concert less than an hour from my house. Tickets are CHEAP! But I have to work...

Yeah, last year when I wrote that post, I think I had only heard "My Immortal" and maybe "Going Under" and was just tired of the same two songs over and over. After getting my hands on the entire album, I am a HUGE Amy fan. It is to the point that I think it makes my wife jealous.

It was that song, the instsnt I heard it for the first time, that I decided Amy Lee was an AMAZING singer. She absolutely ROCKS in that one.
