This game is intended to make you do a little brushing up on SRL books you've read or to pull down those that are waiting on your bookshelf. It will, perhaps, be a little slower than the 'Last Letter - First Letter' game, but it will also be less repetitious.
In this thread, you as the player will quote a sentence or significant phrase from an SRL book, name the book in which it appears, and then choose a particular word in that phrase.
The next player will then post a quote from a different SRL book that uses the chosen word, and then select a word from that new quote for the following person to play on.
(1) Please don't choose a name that is unlikely to appear in any other book. (2) Forms of the chosen word are allowed
To start:
Scatha greeted me with frank disapproval, however (The Endless Knot) - disapproval
Next person:
Hunter figured it was a portrait of New York's first chief executive, and judging from his expression, the old bird seemed to disapprove of the way his successors had carried on (City of Dreams) - judging

The stinking rich amass wealth in tax-exempt offshore capital investment accounts, while the rest struggle along stark streets knee-deep in canine excrement to punch the time clock in soul-stifling sweatshops for the wherewithal to buy a rind of rancid cheese and a tin of beans with our overtaxed, undervalued pound. - (The Paradise War) - struggle

"'You're perfect.' Her long dark hair was pulled back into a thick braid; a few loose strands at the sides and forehead fell forward, framing her face like the feathers of a raven's wing. 'Better than perfect.'" - (Avalon)
