When I write, I write a lot.
The Day The Angels Wept
Tormented daily by her own mind
She had fought once
Had hoped once
Suddenly, hope didn't matter
Suddenly, she was alone
Once, she had friends
The typical kind
But not anymore
Not now, not today
Today she threw on her black clothes
And scowled at the world
Today she made her mother cry
She knew she had inflicted pain
But she didn't care
She had pain of her own
Did anyone care about her pain?
Did anyone care why she wanted to die?
Today she bought a knife
With it she created physical pain
Hoping it would replace her other pain
Today she bled on the floor
Today, a thought occurred
She didn't want to live with all the pain
No one could offer the hope she needed
The love she needed
She looked at her arm and smiled
She would end the pain
Stop the torment
She held the blade to her throat that day
That day, she slit her throat
She ended her own life
That day, she left her family
She left them to mourn
That day, the angels wept
That girl was alone and in pain
That day, was today
That girl...was alone
Or was she?
The had tried to tell her
She refused to listen
The tried again to tell her
She wasn't alone, she was loved
She had started to listen once
She had heard them out
It only angered her
She knew they were lying
They tried to help that day
The day she died
They tried in silence
The silent prayers of her loved ones
They loved her, they always had
She pushed them aside
She didn't want their suffocating lies
Little did she know
The lies were her own
She was suffocating herself
When she could stand it no more
She killed her own body
Stole her own life
But where was her soul?
It's gone, she had little use of it in life
Now she's burning
Her body's dead, but her soul is burning
They found her that day
On the cold floor in the garage
Again her mother wept
She made her mother cry twice
Her mother had loved her
Her father wasn't around
Her father left years ago
He hadn't cared
He told her so
He told her she was worthless
She listened to her father
Because she loved her father
Even when he hurt her
She lived with the bruises
In time, she began to hate
She hated her father for hurting her
She hated her mother for not helping
But most of all, she hated God
He had let it all happen
They said He cared
If He cared, then why didn't He stop it?
Why didn't He stop her father?
If God cared, she wouldn't have to hate
God didn't care, He couldn't
How could He care if He wasn't real?
She hated Him because He was false
He wasn't real...
Now she's burning
She thought the pain would end with her life
She was wrong
She wanted God to save her dead soul
But it was too late
She had made her choice
Now she was paying for it
The angels wept for her
She cried from the fire
No one heard her dead soul's plea
No one truly cared
It rained that day, the day she died
God's heart broke
The earth was drenched in His tears
The heavens opened up and poured with His grief
His daughter had died
She had died without knowing Him
She had died without wanting Him
She had cast God aside
She had said He didn't care
Again, she was wrong
He did care
Her funeral was bleak
The church was full
Everyone she knew was there
Everyone except her father
He didn't care about her
Her mother leaned into the open casket
She gently kissed her daughter's head
Her mother said farewell
The funeral was ending
The church doors opened
Her father walked through
He made his way to the front
The casket was still open
He leaned into it and began to weep
He wept bitterly
Then he found the only words that mattered
He looked at his dead daughter
And said, "I'm sorry, I love you."
When she was buried
Her father held her mother
They cried on each other
Comforting each other
It took her death
To bring her parents back together
