I agree that another period would be nice, though I wouldn't be disappointed with another Celtic book... Fine, I concede: I would like more fantasy or sci-fi. Come my child... Join the Dark Side of the Force.... ;D

About 3 years ago, I would have agreed with you all in wanting to see more fantasy from Lawhead, but I've taken a turn lately and have sorta re-discovered the joy of history, and novels that put those eras that I'm interested in into a novel give me a glimpse into what life would have been like surrounding these history-making events of the past. There's enough history in the period 500AD-1500AD to keep any respectable author in business for a lifetime

I guess I just get burned out on single themes. If Lawhead had written Fantasy only for the last 12 years, I'd be ready for a change too. *shrugs* To each their own, right?

To each their own, right? For certain. I guess part of my problem is that I haven't found any new fantasy authors lately who I think are any good (the last one I discovered was Steven Erikson) was I guess I'm just branching out.

I love Lawhead's work and haven't gotten tired of what he writes about. I think he has found a groove and is sticking with it until he finds the urge to switch.
Seth. Who all have you read? I'm sure there are a number of suggestions that could be made for some good reading.

I'm keen for more lawhead fantasy. (was thinking about it just the other day).
The DragonKing and Pendragon books are reasponsible for first getting me hooked into both fantasy and histortic fiction. Actually they got me into reading full stop!
I have have no doubts that SL could write great fanasy once more. And "bring it on" I say!

Yes, the Dragon King books were well done and I liked the first three books from the Pendragon Cycle the best.

You know, after thinking about this more, I'm interested in more than just the era or genre. I am curious to see if Lawhead goes with a different type of writing style.
The linear style in Byzantium was so well done, and we know what he did with Pendragon. I wonder if he will use a completely different approach to story-telling?
I am writhing in agonizing anticipation!

I am writhing in agonizing anticipation! You poor thing. I trust you'll find relief soon. There are several ways I'd like to see SRL go. Not being a huge SciFi fan, I don't really care if he writes more of that genre. My favorite is the semibiographical historically-based novel. There are a number of fascinating characters he could write about--Robin Hood and Grania (the Irish lady pirate) are two that come quickly to mind. And woot--my 100th post! I'm now a Bard! ;D

I'd like to see more fantasy. Although I know he'll never do it, I'd love another Song of Albion book. Sci-Fi would be fine, even historical fiction. Just nothing that is the current time period. I have little patience for books that cover current events. I love the 400 - 1100 AD time period best.

Yeah. Except for the American events up to about 1890, I stop reading at 1650.

I love phantasy and I would like more of thiese types from him but I think his Pendragon Series was brillant. In my humble opinion it was an example of the perfect blend of phantasy and reality.

I love his historical fiction and his celtic fantasy, but I would like to see him stretch his wings on some new sci-fi. It has been a long time since he has written any of that, and his writing style has changed and marured. Time to try the sci-fi again!
