Howdy. This is my first post here. I have read these forums off and on for several years now. I was first hooked on SRL reading the Pendragon Cycle and look very eagerly forward to "Tuck" from the Hood Trilogy. The only books of his I have not read, I think, are DreamThief and Empyrion.
Well, back to topic. I highly recommend The StormCaller. The reading of it reminded me of Lawhead, though after discussions with one of the author's, he has never read Lawhead as far as I know. The concept and story was his idea, and the co-author is the "pen" that put it to words for us to read.
Very good book, obvious Christianity undertones. The book has very little press, unfortunately, the publisher is new and does not have the large market reach yet.

"Book Description
They're caught on opposite sides of a vicious war. On the Isle of Turmak, a power-hungry necromancer longs to resurrect the unholy spirit of the Dragon. At his side is a legendary swordsman named Legion, who has single-handedly crippled the kingdom of Freeport from defending themselves against the necromancer's plot. Then Andrea, a young slave girl, who has magical powers beyond human comprehension, finds her way to Freeport, and the tides of war begin to change. But are these powers, should she choose to accept them, enough to save the kingdom? Are they enough to stop the unstoppable Legion, who seems bent under the weight of an unholy evil to destroy everything-even those he loves? Full of surprising twists and imaginative medieval battles, this is the first book in The Legends of Turmak series."
