So I've been taking this Irish Literature class as part of my major. . .I've read many books and I still have one more to go. . .Here's the list:
James Joyce--Portrait of an Artist as a young man Kate O'Brien--Land of Spices Flann O'Brien--At Swim-Two-Birds Samuel Beckett--Murphy Edna O'Brien--In the Forest Reddy Doyle--The Woman who walked into doors
I've also read several plays by Yeats, Lady Gregory, Sean O'Casey and John M Synge. Also there have been poems by Yeats and short stories by several other writers. . .Frank O'Conner and Sean O'Faolain. . .
So out of the books, I liked Land of Spices, At Swim-Two-Birds, In the Forest. I didn't like Portrait, or Murphy. . .everything else, with the exception of Frank O'Conner's "The Drunkard" has been okay. . .O'Conner's story was hillarious though and I totally loved it.
Anyone else have an opinion on these? I still have to ready Doyle. . .I'm thinking it'll be very well done if it's anything like Edna O'Brien's use of characterization!

Hi. I just wanted to ask if anybody could please tell me where in the Internet I could find books by Séamus Ó Grianna aka Máire if it's possible. The problem is that I've found several novels by him in Russian, my mother tongue, and I really liked them. But I can't find any mentioning of that author in English. Perhaps his books just were not translated from Irish?..
