Just so you know, Bear--I personally don't enjoy Bernard Cromwell's books because he seems to combine raunchy themes (which is realistic for the time period) with flat writing. But that's just me.
I am finishing a reread my collection of C.S. Lewis and starting on 1491.

A Song of Ice and Fire- George R. R. Martin Delicious! With no offense meant to Stephen, GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire series is one of the best things ever written. Definitely in my top 3 favorites (and is usually in #1 place). Enjoy! I'm now reading The Kite Runner.

Lies My Teacher Told Me- James Loewen (no, I didn't read all four GRRM books in a day--I'm switching back and forth between library books and books I own).

I just finished a collection of Lovecraft and now i'm reading a Supernatural novel (based on the show) It's been a couple of years since I picked up anything by the old gentleman of New England...I might need to do that again. In the mean time, I'll still reading The Kite Runner, but I'm also reading Mysterious Skin--both of which are very, very painful. As soon as I finish one or the other of them, I'm going to read Tim Powers' latest: Expiration Date, which is billed as a companion to his novel Last Call (which I believe to be his best).

The History of the Ancient World by Susan Wise Bauer. So far it's well written and quite readable, as well as most fascinating.

I finished reading Auralia's Colors as part of the Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy Blog Tour. Very unique book ... different in many ways from Lawhead, but excellent in its own way. I wrote two reviews of it on my blog, if anyone is interested. Here are the links: Auralia's Colors Review Part 1Auralia's Colors Review Part 2 (of villains and beastmen)I am currently reading L.B. Graham's "Beyond The Summerland" (excellent) as well as a couple of books on how to market fiction.
