Favorite Villain Character
From all the books you have read who have been your most favorite VILLAINS and why?
What made them so good (or good at being bad in this case) for you? Were they classic, complex, simple etc?

My fav. villian would have to be Mars from the BOOK OF SWORDS just because his utter arragance cost him everything and served as an appropriate lesson to what the repercutions are to those particular traits.

For me it's a toss up between the White Witch from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and Count Dracula from Dracula. The White Witch because she's an interesting villian, and intelligent. And kind of scary too. I think Dracula might have a bit of an edge over the White Witch because he's such a classic villian. And when I read the book this year, there were times when Dracula really creeped me out.

Likewise, in my mind the White witch ties with Charis Magi mentor from SRL's Taliesin (I can't remember his name). I am not exactly sure what endeared me to the White witch. It has been along time since I read it, but I do remember vividly that I really liked her character, especially in The Magician's Nephew. As far as the Magi went I enjoyed his transformation from good to evil. It reminded me how easy it is for us to fall and slowly slip to the dark side ourselves. I thought they were both complex and yet had some classic characteristics. P.S. Annubi's (that's his name) story is probably one of the most heart throbbing ones I've read by SRL. To see someone so good fall so far just breaks my heart.

Satan from Incarnation of Immortality Mr. Anthony did a fine job on the destructive deception or the Devil.

Mrukk from Empyrion was the first that came to mind. Ominous, evil and terrifying... kind of the same thing that made Darth Vader so cool in Star Wars

Well, I'm going to kiss up to SRL and say Morgian. It is difficult to choose because villains are my heros. I love villains. They are almost always my favorite characters.
But I will say Morgian for 3 reasons:
#1 She's sexy. Hey, I'm a guy...leave me alone. #2 She is pure evil - she's not one struggling with right and wrong. You hate her from the depths of your being, yet you're attracted to her at the same time. #3 You can't kill her! Every great bad guy is invincible. Showing up in Avalon...wow, that seals the deal - she is one of the most impressive villains.

Definately the Witch King of Angmar. Not ultimate villain, but he's creepier, and his presence is enormously unsettling. You don't see him a whole lot of him, but you always know he and the Nazgul are out there somewhere. And you don't know what he actually looks like.
And then Jackson clinched it with that awesome helm/crown. Very terrifying.
I must say that that I also loved Artemis Entreri from Salvatore's books. You always kinda like him, and want him to come to the realization that Drizzt did. And he's just really dang cool.

The evil kings of Numenor. It's terrifying to realize how deep the rot has gone by Tar-Palantir's time, that they will not be saved. Also Faramir's dream of the great green wave colors it in my memory.

Going along the line of Tolkien, I would have to say Feanor. He was both a great Elf and a villain for what transpired at his misguided anger. If he hadn't gotten all ticked off at the Valar the Elves would have stayed in the Blessed Realm and much of the evil that took place in Middle Earth would never have happened.
