My heart will tell me what is right. Not to be offensive, but I think you need an objective measuring stick as well.

(Whew! That's a strong word to throw around for a reason like that!)
As for Hinata's original post, I'll take any snow that she doesn't want! Let's see, the last time I saw that stuff at home was ... hmm ... well, I don't recall more than a dusting in a decade.
I've taken my two most recent vacations to the southern part of Utah, and I'm completely sold on how beautiful it is there! I certainly hope to go back!

what part of Southern Utah did you go to?
And so we don't drink coffee so we are hated? *Is confused how that one works* do you hate people who don't drink soda pop?

I think that comment was intended as "tongue in cheek" But I will remind everyone to be respectful of other's religious beliefs. Thanks.

I was a bit depressed to come to this, being my first, forum at this site to see arguing already. But I am somewhat a veteran in forum politics and survived a stent in the Marine Corps, so I think I can shrug it off and trudge on...
As to the Mormon "debate", I have had many a good friend that follows this path that have given me great spiritual advice. As it is, I currently claim no denomination, because whether Mormon, Catholic, Protestant, or any denomination that claims Christ has its own internal weaknesses and strenghts. I envy the devotion of the Catholic to scripture and service. I long for the devotion and eagerness of the Mormon in his/her evangelism, I love the freeness of the Protestant worship. The fact is that there are so many divisions within these denominations that its hard to point fingers. But really, is that the purpose of a true follower of Christ? Ack!! I'm on a soap box.
To the purpose of this topic...Utah's weather may be harsh... but I am in Nebraska... Over the winter I have the flu, the spring brings on colds, summer brings on allergies, and fall brings on hay fevers and more allergies. Let just say I think Nebraska provides the Kleenex company with a large revenue. One would say, "can anything good come from Nebraska?". And I would say...."where did our favorite author come from??"

It's not like we're really hostile toward one another here, but argumentation is what produces dialog, and has given rise to some of the best conversations on this site. It's all in good fun.

Dinadan's right... Thoughtful and respectful discsussion and debate are fine. Unlike most sites I've been too, the members of this forum have shown great respect for the other person in their discussions and "arguments". I can't think of any "flame" wars ever happening due to these types of discussions, at least at not here. Sometimes respectful debate/discussion is useful and even eye-opening to other thoughts and opinions out there. Untainted, I think you took the words right from my mouth. I couldn't have expressed my own feelings any better than the way you just did.

I apologize for making this seem like a fight. . .I just tend to get a bit on the offense when individuals start to attack something that they have a limited understanding of. I've always loved a good argument but I do get very defensive of statements like "pointless religion" and so I guess that got me started on the wrong foot with cowgirl. . .I apologize for that and I'll try to do better in the future. Hopefully cowgirl will understand this just as a miscommunication and we can move on from here
