PRYDAIN IS FRICKIN AMAZING!!!! My favorite fantasy books, far beyond HP or LOTR. They're just.... y'know....um, perfect? Yeah, that.
Someone needs to make absolutely awesome movies out of them (Peter Jackson anyone?) to get rid of the disney memory. *Shudders*

I just now noticed this thread! My dad read THE HIGH KING to my older brothers and I several long years ago. It was quite good. I think one of my brothers read the rest of them but I never did.
One thing my brother and I have talked about; if they ever do make a movie for The High King, the soundtrack has got to be Enya's DAY WITHOUT RAIN CD. It fits perfectly.

I have just started to reread these. The first time I read them was back in the 5th grade which was, um, let me see...14 or 15 years ago now. Hoping they're just as good the second time around.

Maybe someday! I'm hoping to gert into filmaking, and these are definitely on my list! Personally, I think PJ would butcher them!

I bought The Golden Dream of Carlo Chuchio last week, and started reading last night. So far, I like it. I'll update everyone when I'm done.

This is an old thread but for whatever reason, I just noticed it.
Lloyd Alexander was my favorite pre-Lawhead author. I've read Prydain multiple times and absolutely adored it. Like many of you, I've seen the Disney film. It was visually gorgeous and fairly well in-line with how I envisioned Prydain to look. Unfortunately I didn't care for the hybridization of the first two novels.
Unfortunately, Mister Alexander died in May of 2007, not long after his wife died. But his legacy lives on in his amazing stories. My oldest sons are five and six, so I can't wait to begin reading "The Book of Three" to them and rediscovering Alexander's Prydain all over again.
