James Herriot wrote memoirs of being a country vet back in 'the day'. Fascinating, funny, and cute reads.
All Things Bright and Beautiful All Creatures Great and Small All Things Wise and Wonderful The Lord God Made Them All Every Living Thing
Those are the American editions... the Brit versions come in two shorter books for each American, I think.

Child of Immanuel, These books are my mum’s favourite. I haven’t read them myself but have watched all the episodes of “All creatures great and small” these being based on the books. Did they air this in the States? Its very witty stuff, I love the personalities of the farmers that come across so cantankerous and awkward but underneath are good, genuine people, for the most part anyway

I don't know if they aired them... it may be before I was born, but I haven't had TV since I was three, so... I don't know.

They were aired here ages ago. I recall my mother watching them back in the 80's. She was reading the books simultaneously. I, of course, was more into Doctor Who... and there is a connection.

I was going to mention it myself. Yep... Peter Davison, as the Doctor, sticking his rubber-gloved arm up the arse of time to see what's wrong with it.

Wayne Brady, Colin Mackery, Ryan Stiles and Drew Carey... But they also have a guest to help them out. Robin Williams rocked when he was on it.
