If you haven't read anything by Tim Powers you should try to find a copy of his book The Annubis Gates. It is a great, complicated story with many threads that he does successfully tie back together by the end of the book. And it's just rock star quality scifi/fantasy/pirate adventure/time-travel/too many catagories to fit into. Plus, it has recently come back into print.
If anyone has had the pleasure, I'd be more than happy to chat about Annubis (unfortunately, the only book of his I've had the opportunity to read).

Doyle is a girl thingy...but Horrabin to this day is one of my favorite bad guys. Sure makes ya look at clowns in a different light eh? I liked Doyle--he was a little slow (I figured out he was W.A. before he did), but I suppose it was inevitable for the plot. I thought he was a fanscinating character. I'd like to see more of the Atanaeus Brotherhood. |
