Aside from the fact that she doesn't have black hair, I think Tilda Swinton will be great. And the girl that plays Lucy is just adorable.

One of the things I've been really pleased with is that very thing: viz. the casting. Acting and whatnot I'll have to judge later, but at the very least, the characters look just about perfect--especially Edmund. There were some pictures circulating around a while back which showed him looking appropriately sulky. The cast alone is an improvement on certain previous outings.

I'm already prejudiced against:
Anyone else see a problem here?

Maybe it's one of those cases where they give someone a plot synopsis so they can write the descriptions on the back of the book--or something like that.

I'm guessing... hoping... that she just doesn't know what she's talking about there. I think you're probably right; some of the other answers she gave made me go, "eh, what?" as well. Actors may have different "interesting" ideas about their characters that may or may not agree with the author, but if it helps them get into character and so protray the authors idea as he wished it, then I really see no problem. Not only that, but she is quoted as only recently having read the Narnia books. Not being a devoted fan of them already as most of us are, I think it's understandable if she makes some mistakes in comprehension. Jadis, while not having created Narnia did create it's frozen state. Maybe she was just muddled on that point. Also, it's very hard sometimes to phrase what's in your head adequately enough so that people can understand it as you meant it to be understood. I have this problem. I get a briliant thought and it comes out, "reshuglarack." I say we wait till the movies come out before prenouncing condemnation.
