Internet Promotion

I've started several groups at various places on the internet, but I'm having trouble getting people to join because I'm not sure how to spread the word that these groups exist. How can I get the info about a specific group to the people who would find the topic interesting and wish to join? How do I promote my group? Especially when each group caters to a different topic and would appeal only to a select group of people. I need advice. LOTS of it. The more the better. Help~~~~~

Sorry. The only advice I have right now is to continue telling people about these groups. You can post links to them in your signature if you like but there are limits to the number you can link, based on character space.

You can always start up threads about them in the boards you're a member of and broadcast them that way as well. If you give a little information about each of the group with the link that might get some people involved.

depending on what kind of boards they are...but if they are say self help boards like say abused women or whatever then some places will place your link in their link pages.
the board I mod on has a section for people that have other boards that are not in competition with what we are trying to do but also is not against what the board is for.
most boards will allow you to post a link in your sig line. or you could do an add with google or something.

Thanks for the advice. Nothing to appologize for...I welcome any knowledge y'all care to spread. I'm still pretty green when it comes to computers and the internet. (if you hadn't already noticed).
