Heh, I've known about it pretty much since The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe came out. Needless to say, I'm super excited. From what I've seen, it looks like it'll be just as good as LWW. ;D

I'm in the same boat as you Daae. I've been keeping tabs on this from the very start and it does look pretty exciting. Under a year and we'll have another installment. I'm so pumped.

It doesn't hurt that, for me, Caspian is, very probably, my favorite character in the series ( as well as being the character that appears in the most number of books!).
I enjoy seeing him grow up, and old, and then, his death is one of the best examples of Christian death in all of literature.

I read all of these books back when I was a little kid and hopefully this question can be answered by one of you. I currently own the omnibus edition, but I don't remember the books being in the order in which they are presented.:
1. The Magician's Nephew 2. The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe 3. The Horse and His Boy 4. Prince Caspian 5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 6. The Silver Chair 7. The Last Battle
Anyone care to enlighten me as to whether or not this has always been the order?
Just to keep this on topic, I am also looking forward to seeing Prince Caspian.

You are right that this has not always been "the" order. Lewis's original ordering was:
1. The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe 2. Prince Caspian 3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 4. The Silver Chair 5. The Horse and His Boy 6. The Magician's Nephew 7. The Last Battle
Some time between then and now, some wise soul decided it would be better to renumber them in Narnian-chronological order.
Among the other wonders I experienced on first reading the books, it was really cool to discover all the things in The Magician's Nephew that tied in the beginning of the tales, and how neatly it all came together. (It was also awesome to see the beginning and the end of Narnia juxtaposed like that in books 6 and 7.)
Now this work is already done for today's new readers, and there's one less i that needs dotting, and one less wonder needing to be discovered.
I'm glad the movies are coming out in the 'right' order.

Thanks Tegid. I knew something seemed wrong about the order in the omnibus.
