I celebrated by wearing my Captain America t-shirt all day, playing volleyball and eating sloppy joes with a big group of people, and as soon as my friends get here and pick my brother and I up, we're going to go see a real patriotic movie, The Transformers! Yeah, okay, I'm a nerd... how did you celebrate? Happy 4th everyone!

lmao
That sounds like a great way to celebrate the 4th. For me, I spent the majority of the day working outside at my house. We didn't watch any movies, other than my catching about an hour of Return of the King before my wife and baby woke up. That's about it for the entire day though.

Well, I spent time with family... grilled out... went swimming... and watched License to Wed with my wife. Nothing beats a Robin Williams flick on July 4th.

We went to my parents, but first to a parade. I got to see an old school bus tricked out with monster truck tires and a saying on the back "Trains stop for this bus at all railroad tracks". And of course there was food. There must be food. Burgers and brats, corn on the cob, jello, strawberries, etc. Kids went through the slip-and-slide. Good ol' american stuff!

We saw Live Free or Die Hard. Good continuation of the Die Hard movies. Plus, it had the "Hi, I'm a Mac" guy from the commercials. He was absolutely hilarious.
And we watched Joey Chestnut, of course!!!!

TV? We watched the parade on TV because it threatened rain. But then the sky cleared and we all went over and spent the afternoon with friends at the in-laws' and ate lots of brats, hotdogs and hamburgers. Then I helped/watched someone fix my MIL's computer, which had a nasty virus.
We missed half the fireworks because MIL went to the Wednesday night service and didn't get back till they were about to start, so we left the computer and hurried over in time for the grand finale. Next year, I hope we watch from where we went, though, because it was a good view and easier to drive out at the end.
Then home, packed for the anniversary getaway, and collapsed into bed. *yawn* Long day.

As Dan said, we went to a parade, had a cookout, and then the Slip 'N' Slide. He just neglected to mention that I went slippin' and a slidin' too!! (Boy, was I sore the next day!! ) And then into the hot tub also before we started watching Monk on TV. So funny!!

I wore red, white and blue, and told my Spanish host family about our national holiday.
