So my Thanksgiving traditions have been interrupted, unforunately. When I was younger my family would travel the whole mile to my grandmother's house and help fix the potatoes (I always had to peel the things!) and the last of the meal that we were going to consume. We'd then consume and just lounge around the house for about four hours before we broke out the pies . . . yum! Then when I was a Senior in high school, my other grandmother passed away so we had a thanksgiving dinner at my parents' house and invited my step-grandfather to come to dinner. Since that time, we've been doing it that way. Oh, and that first dinner I fixed completely by myself. Then last year I moved to New Mexico and as a result of that, I couldn't travel home for Thanksgiving so my roommates and I have been having Thanksgiving dinner together. This year, we'll be eating with our friends--even those whose family live in or near town are coming. I'm also going to another friend's house to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family which means two turkey meals in a single day. . .wee! Lots of Turkey and Pie OH! And Mashed Potatoes! That's the history of my Thanksgiving. . .Traditions have recently been changing, and I'm curious what will happen next year for Thanksgiving.

I went up to PA to be with my family...we don't have the "traditional" American Thanksgiving because my mother's side is Lebanese. So we have a lot of ethnic foods, and I didn't even touch a slice of turkey. But at my school we had a really good Thanksgiving feast the Thursday before Thanksgiving. One of the few times a year when cafeteria food actually tastes good! lol
