When I started working in the warehouse this past summer, it was really hot. Upper nineties, even in the hundreds and hundred-tens with humidity.
Some of the guys were getting mad at each other, and fighting, whatnot, almost every day, but now that the days grow cooler, it seems that we're all getting along better. Methinks that the heat of summer caused tiredness and then crankiness. Is this an old theory that's new to me? Has anyone else witnessed anger that appears to be a direct result of ninety-five degree weather?
I dunno. Just something I was pondering.

I certainly think there is a direct correlation between high temperatures and bad tempers. I think people are more irritable and cranky because they feel miserable in the high heat. When the weather gets colder people can still feel somewhat miserable but they are less likely to take it out on others because they are more concerned with staying warm.

I can definitely attest to the fact that people are crankier when they are tired. And not seen the sun in a few weeks. And too hot. And too tired. And .... you get the picture. Tired seems to be the biggest cause of crankiness even in children.

I think they are irritable when they are uncomfortable. I know I'm cranky when it is hot...but I feel right at home in the winter. My wife, on the other hand, tolerates heat much better and actually is crankier when she is too cold. End result is that one of us is grumpy year round...

I work Customer Service in an office supply store and have worked retail for the last decade. I firmly believe that the full moon affects peoples' moods--I can always tell when it's a full mood. People are foul, vile beasts under the full moon. *shudders* anyone who denies that the moon affects people has never worked retail.

The full moon is also the result of people driving stupidly. I'm always on guard when I'm driving with a full moon. . .
And I agree, I've only worked retail for a year and a half now and before that I was in fast food. . .full moons definately make people cranky!
