I personally get a real kick out of hearing peoples dreams. The weirder the better. So if you had a dream that you can't get out of your mind, let's hear about it. Let me start: There was this serial killer who had all the police baffled. His M.O. was to 'bonk' people on the head with a large jar of peanut butter (creamy - extra smooth). What do you think that means?

In 1996, I wrote a philosophy paper on Dream Reality. I don't know if it will be helpful or not, but you're welcome to read it if you'd like. The Dream Reality EDIT: I modified the link so it will work better. Sorry about that.

In a recent dream I had I had just spent 3 weeks in London and was headed to Paris for another 3 weeks. It was a lovely dream and I didn't want to wake up.

Well, I had a dream once where I had to get the Ring (as in, Lord of the Rings) to Mount Doom but I ran into a group of Narnians being attacked by Calormans. I wanted to help them, but I had to destroy the Ring. Unfortunatly, I woke up before I could find out if I did it.

Seems like most of you aren't staying asleep long enough to enjoy your dreams or see them to completion. Actually, my dreams seem pretty weird compared to "normal" people. I have lots of nightmares. One of my nightmares was very much like the escape from the Coranyid and the Cauldron of Rebirth in the Song of Albion. I guess that's why I like Stephen's writing so much. He seems to be on the same wave length as my mind (and dreams). I'd be interested in hearing how many of you remember your dreams on a regular basis and what percentage of those dreams would you classify as nightmares.

It seems the more intense the dream, the more likely I am to remember it. And I do have a fair number of nightmares, although I don't know if they're really the conventional kind. I still find one of them unnerving, even though I had it about a year or so ago. It started out with a battle and at some point I must have been injured because the next thing I know I'm in the cave/camp place on a bed and I wounded. The "enemy's" leader had agreed to take me in because one of his men was in love with me, and visa versa. He had go out somewhere, to check on troops or something, I can't really remember, and before he left he told his soldiers that I was not to be harmed. Well, not five minutes after the guy leaves, one of the soldiers comes at me with a knife. The guy I was in love with runs and tries to stop him, but some of the other soldiers hold him back (he fights of course...my hero). Meanwhile the other soldier is over top of me with the knife and I'm trying to stop him, but he's a big guy and I'm wounded. I think I woke myself up from that one, because things were not looking good for me at that point. I can't tell if the thing that still unnerves me is the fact that I came so close to dying in a dream or that I can still picture the look of grief/hopelessness/rage on my hero's face.

Most of my dreams are me living my life as normal. I rarely have nightmares. Sometimes, it's difficult to keep track of what happened in the dream realm and what happened in the physical realm. I have a watch with the DAY and the DATE included, because with dreams which carry over beyond a day, my internal clock is off for a while. I normally don't remember most of my dreams unless I make an effort to remember them. It gets too confusing if I do.

I rarely remember my dreams. I find that when I remember my dreams it means I'm not sleep well at all. . ..kind of sucks.

I had one vivid dream once in which I was being chased through my grandmother's house by Uruk-hai, only there were a few more floors. The two sets of stairs came in handy as we went to a higher floor, hid, were found, ran higher, hid, were found, went back down again. Then somehow we were in the sewing room and I was being squashed--literally--against a wardrobe by a big Uruk with his breastplate. King Theoden, who was sitting on the bed resting, got up and whacked its head off (with a sword, of course). Last of all we found a staircase down from the attic to the alley outside. As we were fleeing the house, I heard the words 'They will never stop hunting you' and woke up. I haven't remembered a dream since, but I like some of my earlier dreams. Maybe I'll bore you more later.
