I would say the Cele De would be connected to the Druids at some point, but how I'm not sure. However, I did find this in my research... Cele De is a contemporary Celtic band based in San Jose, California. The group consists of Olivia Valderrama (flute, vocals, Irish whistle, piano), Robby Valderrama (guitar, bass, piano), Peter Kistler (percussion, vocals, guitar), Amy Kistler (violin, vocals), and Samuel Davidson (violin). (The Culdee, Kuldee or Céli Dé (lit. "vassals of God") formed an ancient monastic order with settlements in Ireland and Scotland. In early Irish manuscripts the name is Cele De, that is, God's sworn ally. This is the derivation of the group's name.) Born between 1985 and 1988, the groups youthful energy and brilliant virtuousity has put them among America's most talented musical innovators. They have drawn comparison to bands including Nickel Creek, the Duhks, Jars of Clay, and Seven Nations. In March of 2004, they beat out over 110 bands to win America’s Christian Music Showcase. Since then, they have shared the stage with notable Christian acts including Sonic Flood, Sanctus Real, George Huff, Darrell Evans, Monk and Neagle, among others. Finding acclaim in the Celtic/Folk area, they regularly play with big names like Tempest, the Wicked Tinkers, and the 2005 national banjo champion, Brian Anderson. In 2006, they will be opening for Joy Williams, headlining their own show at Spirit West Coast, playing at Cornerstone Music Festival, as well as performing at Don Quixote’s International Music Hall. Their second full-length album was scheduled to be released in July 2006. www.celede.com/

Right... The second paragraph said...
"(The Culdee, Kuldee or Céli Dé (lit. "vassals of God") formed an ancient monastic order with settlements in Ireland and Scotland. In early Irish manuscripts the name is Cele De, that is, God's sworn ally. This is the derivation of the group's name.)"
This sounds like a branch of Druidry to me.

Bard Child... I have some Druid friends at another forum. I'll ask them about this and see what they have to say.

Bard Child, I have a running discussion on this at the OBOD (Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids) Forum. You can keep up with the discussion at this link... www.druidry.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=18035There is some VERY interesting information coming out of this thread, so hopefully that will answer all of your questions.

So more or less they weren't druids at all. So my question about blending drudic culture with Christiany, is nil right?

The Druids were and still are considered Pagans, however, druidry isn't a religion but more of a spiritual path. Druidry is represented by many different relgions, including Christianity, but those are drastically in the minority. I would say the Cele De were closer to modern day monks, than druids.

It's true that by and large, most Druids are pagans... but many of their teachings go hand-in-hand with Christianity. I think it's possible to successfully integrate the two belief systems.
