www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/06/plant.fire/index.htmlFirst of all... we're alright... We live about 9 miles from the plant that blew up, so we were safe, however, I was in South Carolina at the time and had picked up a rental car at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car located within a mile of this plant. Even this morning, that location is going to be blocked off for another day while the EPA conducts air and soil samples, but I was able to get my car out of there, so I was happy about that. When I'm down in SC, I normally eat breakfast on the road so I can spend company $$$ but yesterday morning I decided to eat waffles from the continental breakfast. So you imagine my surprise when the news comes on and gives a teaser. "Chemical Plant explodes in Apex. 15,000 evactuated. More at the top of the hour." I about choked on my waffle! I called Dawn to make sure she and Cameron were alright, and to my relief, they were fine. My company is located 3 miles from this plant, but they didn't have to evacuate either, thankfully. I thank God that he takes care of my family, even when I'm not around.

That is some scary crap. Glad you're OK!
Not to make light of it, but I hope the EPA does its job well...you don't want to be growing extra body parts or anything...I hate that chemical stuff, because you always wonder if you're being told the whole story.
Prayers for you guys. I doubt God moved you down there to blow you up...

Goodness. That's incredible. I'm glad you and the family are safe. Scary stuff when those things happen.

There's a chemical plant not too far from my house, and they just had this big ordeal recently. Nothing serious though, apparently, because no one was evacuated. Glad you and your family is alright!
