I have a few different dream vacations... I would love to back pack through europe and visit all the historically rich spots and the not so historically rich. I would also love to do a safari or scuba dive in various coral reefs (which i might get to do... for a class... yup i get credits for diving) I would also love to take a kayacking trip through the Gulf, Broken Group, or Queen Charolette Islands which are all spectacular islands in my province which are virtually untouched by man.

Well, my favorite vacation was my honeymoon with my darling cree when we went to Playa Del Carmen. What a blast!
My dream vacation would be to go to Ireland and stay in a castle and live as they did hundreds of years ago. Of course backpacking across Europe would be a blast too. Although, maybe I might prefer to ride in a car these days instead of walking. HA!
Actually, I'd love to buy a castle in Ireland and live there when I retire. ;D

Bora Bora Island, in the Pacific ocean. I wanna go there so bad. That's just one of my dream vacations. Another is taking a train across Europe, and another is Blimping across the Atlantic ocean, like the Hindenburg or something.
Oh, and Scuba diving in the Cayman Islands. I have a friend there and he said he'd take me to three different spots where WWII battleships have sunk.

My Dream Vacation: I would love to live in Paris, Rome, and London for about a year apiece. Live in one spot and really get to know the city and be a part of it, not just visit it. We did that on a small scale (but only a week in London) and it was so fun to really get to know one area really well. We'd also like to stay at a castle for a few days and I'd love to go to the Maldives. (Although I'm not one for sitting on a beach for more than an hour, so there would have to be other things to do.) Did I mention that I just want to travel? I'm trying to get to the 6 main continents in my lifetime, I've already managed to hit 4. But the first thing on my Life List is to go to Paris and have dinner on the Eiffel Tower. Dan told me that we can do that for our 25th anniversary!! Only 14 more years until that happens!! To make your own Life List, check out: www.noopportunitywasted.com/

A perfect vacation would have to include good friends...or at least one companion of like mind. While I can enjoy mundane life in solitary fashion, there is an added joy in sharing adventures and unexpected beauty with someone. That said...
I'd love to travel and camp for months, stopping at interesting sites (like mountains or gorgeous scenery...or history) and changing directions mostly on whim...but making sure to visit any friends along the route.
Alternatively, I'd love to visit so many ancient sites over on 'those other continents', that I really don't think I'll try to mention them all. A nice long trip through those fascinating locations would be incredible, too.

I would have to say returning to Great Britain for 2 - 3 weeks would be my dream vacation. I only spent 10 days there last time and that wasn't nearly long enough.

Obviously, traveling through the jungles of Africa with sword in hand, in search of civilizations centuries past

*wonders if swords make good machetes* And hacking your way through the jungle is cooler in theory than practice... *chuckles* ...literally. *Imagines sweat dripping from an aching forehead and lifting the mach...sword with a cramped arm as thousands of exotic bugs swarm around, looking for unoccupied skin with which to entertain themselves.*
The civilization part sounds fascinating, though. *grin* I'll come in a helicopter after you find it.
